This Week in Wrestling: Week 11 of 2026

Tell me if you heard this one before, AEW delivers a banger of a pay per view show and instead of the wrestling community talking about all the great things that happened at the event, the talk is somehow about something negative involving the company. That has happened a couple of times in the past with AEW and this past week’s Revolution ppv was no different unfortunately. Instead of fans talking about the returns of Adam Copeland and Christian or the return of Will Ospreay or the match between MJF and Hangman Adam Page, most conversations are about AEW wrestler Ricochet.

It wasn’t about any match he had, but comments he made online. A fan criticized Ricochet for being a “bad actor” and Ricochet responded to the fan by looking up her profile and discovering she suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and telling that fan he is glad she has MS. After a slew of fans demanded he apologize and take down the post, initially he refused and justified it by saying all the crap he has endured online and calling many fans “pussies.”

The story became bigger and bigger with even TMZ covering it. Ricochet eventually took down the post and apologized. His wife Samantha deleted her X/Twitter account saying she and Ricochet received multiple death threats. Now there are some rumors that AEW are not happy with what Ricochet said online and Bryan Alvarez speculated if he would be terminated.

First off, I in no way want to defend Ricochet. What he did wasn’t the actions of a “heel” wrestler. To look through a fan’s profile to get dirt on them is weird. To say you were happy that a fan had a debilitating disease is low class. At the same time, fans going overboard and threatening him and his wife is asinine and unacceptable. Ricochet made a mistake and hopefully he learns from it. It is just unfortunate that AEW as a whole had to suffer for Ricochet’s comment.

Remember when WCW partnered with Roos Sneakers in 1990?

Yeah. Ricochet was definitely way out line with that comment. It did get him talked about for once, though. So…mission accomplished.

  • Stupid people do stupid things. Dickinshit is an overachiever, yet he’s still convinced he’s entitled to much more.
