The ‘If Factor’ are a series of articles that takes a look at real scenarios in pro wrestling that at one point or another were suggested, planned, considered…but did not get the green light to continue. What would the landscape of professional wrestling look like if these ideas came to fruition?

The If: The Undertaker Has a Son

Long before WWE pulled the trigger on the Kurt Angle long lost son being Jason Jordan storyline, WWE was toiling with another company legend having a long lost son. Former creative writer Brian Gewirtz revealed that the company had discussions about such a storyline involving the Undertaker back in 2010.

The person that was being discussed, was then developmental wrestler ‘Kaval.’ For those not familiar with him, he was under a WWE developmental contract for a couple of years. He was most known on the independent circuit and competing in places like Ring of Honor and TNA. A true star on the indie scene under the name Low Ki, certainly wasn’t as successful in WWE. He competed on the reality, competition show NXT and briefly feuded with Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental title.

There is no question that Kaval/Low Ki could wrestle. He had such an intensity about himself inside the ring. Charisma wise, he lacked a lot, but as the son of darkness, it might not have mattered much.

Kaval was certainly much smaller than the Undertaker and it was unclear of how the storyline would play out. Kaval’s career trajectory in WWE might have been very different. Would it have been more successful? Would fans accept such an angle involving the Dead Man?

    1. Low Ki and Taker’s age difference is 14 years. Meaning that WWE would have had to let implicit that Taker had sex at that age with someone.
    2. Taker, someone from Houston, made a puertorican with a new york accent
    3. Taker, almost 7ft tall, made a 5,6ft son
    4. After see him as Kaval, suddenly is the son of the Dead Man Walking.
    5. Taker, someone with a clean wrestling style, taught his son to fight as a crazy brawler.

Baron Corbin, circa 2016, would have been the best choice.
