Today on the blog, we look at the young life that was taken way too soon. A young wrestler named Amit Magnezi, who had big dreams to one day be famous. Sadly, his name is now well known, but for all the wrong reasons…

Amit Magnezi grew up a pro wrestling fan in Israel. At the age of 13, Magnezi decided to begin training to become a professional wrestler himself. Family and friends said that Magnezi had aspirations of one day signing with WWE. When he turned 18 years old, Magnezi joined the Israeli armed forces for mandatory service. While serving his time in the military, Magnezi worked as a physical instructor helping other soldiers remain fit and ready for battle.

After completing his two years in the Israel Defense Force, Magnezi returned to his passion of pro wrestling. He left the comfort of home and traveled to Germany for over a month to continue his wrestling training. When he returned to Israel, Magnezi competed for a couple of independent promotions…the Israeli Wrestling League (IWL) and Israeli Pro Wrestling Association (IPWA). Amit was smaller in stature but used his speed and agility to wrestle a cruiserweight style.

Not only did Magnezi have a love of pro wrestling, but he also loved music. Magnezi became a fan of electronic and trance music and often attended concerts. When Magnezi wasn’t wrestling, he was mixing music as a Deejay. It was that love of music that saw Magnezi attend a music festival called the Supernova Peace Music Festival on the border of the Gaza Strip. Amit was in attendance on the morning of October 7, 2023, with some friends and his cousin when the music suddenly stopped amid the loud explosions from rocket launchers. The music festival was under attack from the terrorist group known as Hamas.
Amit and his cousin ran for cover and called his parents to let them know he was okay. As Hamas were quickly approaching, Amit cut off contact with his parents. The cousins ran to get further away from the sound of gunshots. In the melee, Amit lost his cousin. According to reports, while Amit was in hiding, Hamas threw a grenade at his location killing him. His remains were discovered two days later. Amit Magnezi was just 22 years old.

Numerous wrestlers and promoters posted tributes to Amit Magnezi. One of which came from the man who initially trained a 13 year old Magnezi… “Amit was a shining star in the Israeli wrestling scene, always displaying his remarkable skills and sportsmanship. But more than that, he was a beacon of free love and positivity, bringing smiles to all who crossed his path… His bright smile and warm spirit will forever be etched in our hearts.”

Hamas launched an attack on a music festival 10/7/2023….I thought it was a pride festival. Either way, the amount of people standing up for terrorist groups like Hamas, is sad these days. R.I.P. Amit.

I understand free speech but this comment is beneath decent people everywhere. I most disgusting, offensive and hatred comment ever on here. Sickening.

I just read it. Regardless of what “side” people are on in the entire Israel vs Middle East discussion calling people Heebs is very offensive and unnecessary. I deleted the comment. All in all, a tragic situation of a young man taken way too soon. I don’t want to get political here….at all. A very tragic situation.

Have you really just written an article about a kid being killed in a terrorist attack and called it ‘A wrestling with sin special’?

Yes. He was a wrestler that was brutally murdered. Murder is a category of the series. In case you haven’t been following since 2013.
