This is the 594th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

A Giant Issue

In October of 1987, the WWF did a tour of Europe. During that tour, the company was about to do a show in Paris, France which was Andre the Giant’s backyard. The night before the big show, Sherri Martel who had just joined the WWF a couple of months prior decided to go hang with the boys and partied all night.  The next morning, the hotel issued a wake up call to her room which went unanswered. They attempted to call her several times, but nothing came from that.

At least an hour passed and wrestlers were all waiting in the lobby for Sherri to come out. One of those wrestlers was Andre who was not happy. This WWF show was in his hometown and was possibly going to be late because of a drunk female wrestler. Andre supposedly went up to her room repeatedly pounded on her door until a half drunk Sherri finally opened the door. Andre yelled at Sherri and told her that her career would be over if he missed this show in Paris. He berated her and told her to pick what she wanted to be a wrestler or a drunk.

Sherri said that Andre yelling at her made her realize that she needed to be more serious in her career. Sherri quickly got her things and made it to the awaiting bus downstairs. While the wrestlers made the show on time, Sherri said it was weeks before Andre spoke to her again.

Kill on Command

Gordon Nelson was a legit tough guy in the world of professional wrestling. A shooter who could go toe to toe with the very best of his era which was from the 1950’s to the early 1980’s. Nelson was described as quiet but very dangerous by friends within the wrestling industry. His ex-wife and fellow wrestler Marie Laverne Nelson stated that Gordon was so powerful, he could shatter someone’s jaw with a backhand slap. 

While working in the Florida territory for Eddie Graham, a fan who was “smartened up” was causing trouble for Graham revealing all of pro wrestling’s secrets. This fan believed he could enter the ring against anybody and handle them due to the fact that professional wrestling was a work. Eddie Graham accepted the challenge and booked Gordon Nelson for the job to enter the ring with the fan. Gordon was a loyal hand who listened to his bosses and did whatever was asked of him. 

Gordon entered the ring where Graham shouted, ‘Kill him, Gordon!’ within seconds Gordon grabbed the fan and placed him in a half nelson. The fan’s eyes rolled into the back of his head and began gurgling. Graham saw the fan in serious distress and yelled at Gordon to release his hold. The fan had to be stretchered and out of the ring. Graham went up to Gordon and asked why he didn’t release the hold sooner. Gordon looked at Graham and simply said…”You told me to kill him.” 

Less Than Perfect

In May of 2026, Joe Hennig was at a McDonald’s Drive Thru in Minneapolis, Minnesota when he backed into another vehicle. Hennig then allegedly got out of his car and started screaming at the other driver. The police were called and Hennig was spotting driving slowly trying to get out of the McDonald’s parking lot. When police stopped him, Hennig reportedly refused to exit his vehicle. Police had to reach into the car and remove the keys from the ignition themselves.

Police discovered an open bottle of vodka inside his car and noticed Hennig slurring his words with watery, bloodshot eyes. After being handcuffed and placed in a police vehicle, Hennig repeatedly refused to take a breathalyzer test. Instead, he screamed obscenities at the cops, going as far as to call one of them a “fucking faggot.”  McDonald’s employees also claimed that Hennig verbally abused them as well.

Joe Hennig was charged with Third-Degree Driving While Impaired, refusal to submit to chemical test (Breath or test refusal or failure), Obstructing the Legal Process-Lawful Execution Legal Process, having an open bottle of alcohol in his car and failure to stop after an accident to property that did not involve injury. Hennig spent two days in jail before being released. 

Laugh and the Whole Disney World Won’t Laugh With You

Former NXT wrestler Jade Gentile fka Jasmyn Nyx was in the middle of a firestorm involving her boyfriend Bryton Constantin for mocking a disabled child during a visit to Disney World. During a livestream of them walking through the amusement park, Constantin was seen walking up to a disabled child sitting on the ground and high fived him. The child growled at Constantin to which he remarked…“Oh my god, he fucking growled at me. He just growled at me like a fucking dog.” Jade Gentile was seen laughing in the background.

The incident caused many to bash Gentile and her boyfriend on social media. Calling the couple heartless, pieces of shit among many other derogatory names. Gentile would make an appearance on a podcast and tried to clarify the incident in question. She defended her boyfriend saying that is not who he really is. Also saying that he has worked with kids with autism and would never mock a child with a disability. When asked about herself laughing in the video…Gentile responded by saying, “Absolutely not. I would never do that in a million years. I’ve I’ve never made fun of anyone. I’m not that type of person. And neither is he. It’s just clipped like that. And he’s an outgoing, social person. So, whenever he’s talking about things, he comes off like that. But it’s not what it seemed to be.”

Despite her explanation of the situation, Gentile still faced a severe backlash from others on social media. Her boyfriend came to her defense by saying…”My girlfriend has no part of my jokes or dark humor. She is not guilty by association. If you want to cancel anyone, come see me.”
