This is the 544th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
The Stock Market

In 2012, Sarah Stock aka ‘Dark Angel’ who wrestled for CMLL in Mexico, faced a severe backlash from the promotion after they discovered she went on a two month tour of Stardom in Japan. Apparently, CMLL had serious issues with Stock wrestling for Stardom because there was no official working agreement between the two wrestling companies. Because of that, CMLL did not receive a percentage of her salary from that tour. Stock booked the two month excursion on her own.
That led CMLL to intentionally advertise Stock on a series of CMLL booked shows, even though they knew full well she was overseas in Japan and wouldn’t make those appearances. Some believed that CMLL was doing this as an excuse to get out of their contract with Stock. There has also been reports that when Stock returns to Mexico, she will be obligated to pay a lump sum to CMLL for the unauthorized tour or possibly lose her working visa and be deported back to Canada where she is originally from.

Stock has lived in Mexico since 2003 wrestling for AAA, CMLL and TNA. CMLL, which is the oldest wrestling promotion in the world and has very powerful connections, has been attempting to ruin Stock’s reputation and get her blacklisted from wrestling anywhere in Mexico or anywhere else that CMLL does business. As it turned out, Stock would remain with CMLL another three years, finally leaving the promotion in 2015. It looks as if Stock caved to CMLL’s demands and paid the group an undisclosed amount of money to remain in Mexico.
Cabbie Confessions

‘Cowboy’ Bob Orton Jr was arrested for assault at the airport in Calgary, Alberta Canada. In May of 1986, Orton hailed a taxi cab at the airport and once inside the taxi, was immediately recognized as a wrestler for the WWF. The cabbie in question, told the dispatcher over the radio who he just picked up. Unknowingly, the dispatcher who was a wrestling fan, called Orton an asshole over the radio.
Orton heard the insult and demanded that the cab driver tell him the name of the dispatcher and to take him to where the dispatcher was located. The driver refused to cooperate and Orton allegedly punched the driver in the back of his head. The cabbie called for police and Orton was eventually arrested and released on bond.
Kickback

While World Class Championship Wrestling was on an overseas tour of Israel, ‘Gentleman’ Chris Adams got into a violent scuffle with a hotel employee at the front desk. It all stemmed from Adams drinking and wanting to call his wife/girlfriend back in the United States. The hotel operator had difficulty understanding the drunk Adams slurring his words and couldn’t make the long distance call for him.
This apparently angered Adams who stormed downstairs to the front desk. Missy Hyatt said that Adams was extremely temperamental when he drank and could go from zero to six hundred in a minute’s notice. Adams confronted an employee at the front desk and allegedly super kicked the employee in the head knocking him unconscious. Police were called to the scene and manager/booker Gary Hart snuck Adams out of the hotel and immediately sent him back on a flight to Texas.
Despite Adams no longer in the country, Hyatt claimed that the rest of the WCCW roster received death threats from the family of the victim. The hotel had to be evacuated a couple of times due to bomb threats. Chris Adams was never charged or arrested for the assault on the hotel employee.
Things Almost Got Hairy

Rob Van Dam recalled wrestling on an independent show back in 1996 in North Carolina against Billy Kidman. Van Dam said he played the heel in the match and dove into the crowd onto Kidman who was in the stands with the fans. While in the audience, Van Dam said a fan grabbed and pulled his ponytail. Van Dam said he reacted by throwing and connecting a punch against the fan.
That led to a small skirmish with the fan and his two friends, who seemingly all tried to jump RVD in the middle of all these fans in attendance. The situation was quickly defused as Van Dam threw Kidman back in the ring and security handled the situation from getting completely blown out of proportion.
