This is the 534th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

The Two Faces of Dos Caras

Dos Caras was a star luchador, with the 1970’s and 80’s being his peak era. He is also the brother of the legendary Mil Mascaras and is the father of former WWE star Alberto Del Rio. In April of 2024, a woman named Diana Patricia Mondragón came out publicly and admitted to being the former mistress of Dos Caras. Dos Caras has been married for 49 years to the mother of his children. Mondragon claimed that she ended the relationship in February of 2023 and not long after was physically assaulted by both Dos Caras and his son Guillermo Rodríguez Chucuan, who wrestles as El Hijo Dos Caras. Guillermo was also a former WWE developmental wrestler back in 2012.

Mondragón claims that not only did the father and son assault her, they threatened to kill members of her family, if she came out publicly with the affair. She also accused El Hijo Dos Caras of attempting to throw acid into her face at her home, but missed. She stated that the son also broke into her home one day and robbed her of several items…all at the request of his father. She went to the authorities with the threats, assaults and burglary and had pictures taken of her injuries.

Dos Caras admitted to the extramarital affair, but claims it was he who decided to end things. That is when he claims that Mondragón became obsessed and started stalking him and his family. She allegedly sent the wife and his children nude and sexually explicit photos of Dos Caras. Caras denies that he assaulted her at her gym and said he has records of him at his home and at a restaurant during the alleged attack. He has stated that he deeply regrets the affair and realizes he must suffer the ramifications of what he did to his family, but insists his innocence otherwise. The investigation, as of this writing, is ongoing.

Just in Case

Chris Taylor was an amateur wrestler from Iowa State University who won an Olympic gold medal in the 1972 Olympic games. After the Olympics, Taylor was recruited by Verne Gagne to become a professional wrestler. Taylor had the build and the skill set to become a pro, standing over 6ft 5in tall and weighing 400 lbs. He was trained by Gagne and Billy Robinson and made his debut for the AWA in 1973.

Despite a huge push, where Taylor wrestled with and defeated some of the biggest names in wrestling at that time….Taylor abruptly retired from the wrestling business in 1977 citing health reasons. According to one of his best friends Ken Patera, Chris was from a very small town and the life of a wrestler traveling from town to town and big city after big city put him in a depression. Taylor would buy two cases of beer daily and just stay in his hotel room after the matches and drink alone. Patera claims that all of his heavy drinking led to health problems which ultimately led to the end of his pro career. Chris Taylor died just two years later in 1979 from cardiovascular disease. Chris Taylor was just 29 years old at the time of his death.

Hurt Pride

In 1993, at an independent show, a young wrestler named ‘The Vampire Warrior’ later known in the WWF as ‘Gangrel’ wrestled against ‘The Haitian Sensation’ Tyree Pride. During their match, Pride was getting in some offense and apparently did not like the way the Vampire Warrior was selling. Pride got angry and started to legitimately throw stiff kicks and punches at Warrior which Warrior completely “no sold” making Tyree Pride even angrier. Pride attempted to shoot wrestle Vampire Warrior on the mat, but Warrior being trained professionally by the Malenkos got the upper hand in the skirmish.

In frustration, Pride got out of the ring and walked to the back without a decision in their match. When Vampire Warrior returned behind the curtain, Tyree Pride allegedly charged Warrior with a screwdriver. Several wrestlers had to break up the fight and get the weapon out of Pride’s hands. The police were called and both wrestlers were detained and questioned and both eventually released without any charges being filed.

Le Brock’s Shock

Arissa Le Brock is the daughter to actors Kelly Le Brock and Steven Seagal. She started her career working as a plus sized model which included nudity. She got into Brazilian Jiu JitSu and from there started getting the pro wrestling bug. In 2019, Le Brock had a try out with WWE, but an injury caused her to drop out and she was not signed.

Thinking her dreams of becoming a professional wrestler were over, Le Brock said that she fell into a deep depression that affected her both mentally and physically. She said it became one of the darkest periods in her life. That is when Dustin Rhodes reached out to her and invited her to start training at the Rhodes Wrestling Academy. Arissa Le Brock agreed to begin training with Rhodes and she officially made her pro debut in 2023.
