This is the 524th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Justin Trouble

In 2003, Justin Credible missed a flight to a WWE show after getting high on pain pills. A couple of days later, Credible received a phone call from John Laurinaitis and was fired from the company. Credible said he was in tears after getting released from WWE, as he just bought a new house and at the time…very few options to work outside of the promotion.
With Credible working only part time as a wrestler on the indie circuit, he eventually lost his home and lost the ability to get prescribed pain medication from a doctor. Still suffering from his opiate addiction, Credible turned to heroin instead as it was easier to access and cheaper than buying pain pills on the black market. He admitted that he would snort three bags of heroin a day to get his opiate fix, but his money started to dwindle and could only afford one bag of heroin a day.
He discovered that shooting (injecting) the drug lasted longer than snorting it and started to shoot up instead. Despite being a full blown addict, Credible’s money ran out and started suffering from painful withdrawals. That is when he reached out to WWE to get him into a drug rehab facility. After completing his stint in rehab, Credible admitted he still used drugs, but claimed he was a bit more in control of his addiction.
Rick Crude

While working for the Memphis territory in 1984, ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude was accompanied by a valet named ‘Angel.’ According to Jimmy Hart (who managed Rude during this time) Rude and Angel became an item behind the scenes and that is when issues started to manifest. Hart said that Rude and Angel were having sex constantly…even right before he was scheduled to do a promo or have a match making him late and angering Jerry Jarrett and TV executives.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Rude was very jealous and overprotective of Angel. Hart recalled an incident where another wrestler (which Hart refused to identify) made several passes at Angel and it led Rude to beating the other wrestler unconscious. Apparently, Rude’s jealous streak led to Angel splitting from him and completely left the wrestling business becoming a registered nurse instead.
Go Flock Yourself

During the run of Raven and his faction called ‘The Flock’ in WCW, Raven and others admitted that while they were being shown sitting at ringside at events, they were knowingly allowed to partake in drinking beer and taking pills to get high. Jackie Crockett, who was working the cameras for WCW at the time actually encouraged the Flock to do whatever they wanted when they were in commercial breaks. According to Crockett, it made them look more believable looking wasted on TV.

Once the cameras were off, Raven and his crew would then go grab a few beers and take a few Percocets to relax. This routine went on for weeks without any complaints, until one night…Van Hammer was smoking a cigarette at ringside and the arena security asked Hammer to put the cigarette out and he refused. This led security to go to WCW’s head of security Doug Dellinger and report the incident. After that, Dellinger ended the Flock sitting ringside during shows.
Logan’s Run

Brian Logan wrestled for over twenty years dating back to 1993, where he was trained by Tim Horner. Logan wrestled in various promotions including Smoky Mountain, USWA, WCW, WWF and OVW. He was arrested during an independent show when he assaulted a female fan at ringside. According to Logan, he mistakenly thought she was attempting to steal the promotion’s cashbox and jumped out of the ring and smacked her to the floor. He was arrested and charged with assault and battery and eventually sentenced to prison. Logan spent a year and a half behind bars for the crime.
After being released, Logan continued his wrestling career….until one day in 2003…his own father (who had suffered a brain injury years prior) pulled out a gun and shot Logan five times. Four of the five bullets went through Logan’s body…one remained lodged in his spinal column. After recuperating for three years from a near death experience, Logan returned to professional wrestling once again. He ultimately retired and started his own film production company.
