This is the 522nd installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Dud From Dudleyville

Alex Rizzo…best known as ‘Big’ Dick Dudley wrestling for ECW…abruptly quit the promotion in 1999. The reasoning was due to several creative differences between himself and booker Paul Heyman. According to his ex wife (former ECW valet) Elektra, she believes that his leaving the company had a lot to do with Dudley’s untimely passing in 2002. Elektra stated that after leaving ECW, Big Dick went into a severe depression and began abusing pills to cope.

Big Dick Dudley took a variety of pills by the handful on a daily basis. She believes that ultimately, professional wrestling was “175%” responsible for killing Big Dick. He sadly died unexpectedly in May of 2002 of kidney failure brought on by his addiction to pain medication.

Calling in Sick-le

During an edition of NWA Worldwide in 1985, announcer David Crockett was interviewing ‘The Russian Nightmare’ Nikita Koloff. The plan all along, was for Nikita to use a clothesline aka “Russian Sickle” on Crockett.. According to Crockett, very few backstage knew about the spot before it happened. Nikita Koloff claimed that at the time, Crockett was very much despised by most wrestlers in the locker room. Koloff said that Crockett, while wanting to be one of the boys, had an attitude like he was better than them because of his last name.

Both Nikita and Crockett admit that they did not like one another before the spot occurred and that Nikita was extra stiff using the sickle on Crockett. David would legitimately be sent for medical treatment after it happened. Meanwhile, Koloff said that many of the wrestlers went up to him after that spot happened and thanked him. The only wrestler who seemed visibly upset was Ric Flair, who Koloff said was one of the very few friends Crockett had behind the scenes.

The Host with the Most

Jimena Sanchez is a former model and actress turned host for various sports programs on Fox Sports Mexico and Fox Deportes. She currently co hosts WWE Saturday Night alongside Vero Rodriguez which she has been a part of since 2011.

Sanchez has covered several Wrestlemanias, Raw, Smackdown and live events that take place in Mexico. She has interviewed a variety of WWE stars and personalities throughout the years. Aside from her work with WWE and other sporting events, Sanchez has also done completely nude photo shoots and has her own Onlyfans account.

Enough is Enos

‘Mean’ Mike Enos recalled his time wrestling for the AWA early in his career. Enos said that he was once fired by AWA founder Verne Gagne, after getting into a heated argument with both him and his son Greg. Enos couldn’t remember what the argument stemmed from, but said that it got so bad that he and Verne nearly came to blows.

That is when Verne’s son and fellow wrestler Greg Gagne intervened on behalf of his father and had to be held back by various wrestlers and AWA personnel. Verne fired Mike Enos on the spot. After it was all over, Enos went out drinking with some AWA veterans that included Wahoo McDaniel. Wahoo suggested that Enos just ignore what transpired and show back up to work and act like nothing happened. Wahoo, who had booking power, started booking Enos in matches again and Verne was none the wiser.
