This is the 451st installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
I Got Hoooosed!

‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan recalled wrestling the Junkyard Dog in Monroe, Louisiana for Mid South Wrestling in the early 1980’s. During the match, an 18 to 19 year old took a swing at Duggan at ringside, causing Duggan to push the teen away. The teen’s father then got up and punched Duggan square in the face. Duggan retaliated by punching the man twice and knocking the man out.

Not long after, the man filed a lawsuit against Bill Watts, Mid South Wrestling and Jim Duggan for injuries he sustained by Duggan punching him. Watts settled with the man out of court, but Duggan decided to go to trial. It took seven years later for the case to end up in court and by this time, Duggan had left Mid South and was in the WWF. Jim Duggan was confident it was an open and shut case seeing as how the man punched him first and he had a cop who witnessed the entire incident.
Unfortunately, the judge ruled against Duggan citing that by throwing two punches instead of one, Duggan used “Excessive Force” to defend himself and awarded the man $40,000 for his pain and suffering.
In the Face of Tragedy

Paul Lloyd Sr was both a pro wrestler and promoter based in South Africa. As a wrestler, Lloyd was known as ‘The Pink Panther’ and as a promoter, he ran an organization known as ‘All Star Wrestling.’ In 1999, while running All Star Wrestling, one of his female employees was allegedly being harassed by her soon to be ex husband. Paul Lloyd agreed to help her out, by going over to her house and defend her honor by making sure the ex husband left her alone.
As Lloyd approached the front door of her home, the ex husband opened the door and pointed a .44 Magnum at his head and fired one shot at point blank range into Lloyd’s face killing him instantly. The ex husband was arrested and went to trial for murder. His lawyers convinced the judge that he shot and killed Paul Lloyd Sr in self dense and was released from custody.

After Lloyd’s death, the pro wrestling business went into a downward spiral and was never the same again. Paul Lloyd Sr’s son Paul Jr became a pro wrestler himself and currently works under the name PJ Black formerly known as Justin Gabriel in WWE.
Animals Gone Wild…

During the 1980’s in the World Wrestling Federation, several wrestlers were given gimmicks where they brought live animals to the ring with them. A couple of those wrestlers, were the British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid) who brought a bulldog named ‘Matilda’ with them to the ring. According to reports, the Bulldogs hated that they were given a mascot and to further aggravate them, Vince McMahon expected them to be put in charge of the dog while traveling across the country and around the world.

Because the tag team wanted no part of Matilda, they allegedly tortured the dog unmercifully, by giving it beer to drink and feeding it Somas. Shockingly, Matilda survived all of the drugs and alcohol it was given throughout the years. Not so fortunate, was Jake Roberts boa constrictor named ‘Damien.’ Jake allegedly went through several snakes during his WWF run. In one instance, Jake left the snake in the trunk of his car while he partied all night in the middle of winter. When he finally returned to his car and opened his trunk, the snake was frozen solid.

According to several wrestlers, Jake Roberts was not well liked in the WWF locker room and many times, other wrestlers would intentionally drop and kick his snakes while in Jake’s duffle bag. Since McMahon put Jake Roberts in charge of taking care of the snakes, Roberts was always responsible for having to purchase new ones whenever one died.
Singapore Pain

In 1994, a tag team match took place in ECW, pitting Cactus Jack and Tommy Dreamer versus The Sandman and Tommy Cairo. Before the match took place, the wrestlers went over how the match would unfold. Cairo’s valet Angel Amoroso agreed to take a Singapore cane shot to her head to culminate the end of the match. She said that Tommy Dreamer approached her and requested that she not wear panties to which Angel found highly suspicious.

After the match took place, Angel received the cane shot and fell to the mat. That is when she claimed that Dreamer went off script and raised her legs up and viciously caned her in her crotch. The cane shot ripped open her private part and started bleeding profusely. Angry that the spot was not agreed upon by her, Angel confronted Dreamer who allegedly was unsympathetic and refused to apologize.

Angel then went to Paul Heyman to complain and Heyman was less than accommodating to her. She claims that Heyman made all kinds of excuses to defend Dreamer and made her feel horrible. After the show, Angel went to the hospital and says her vagina is now deformed because of the incident involving Tommy Dreamer.
