This is the 306th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Brother’s Creeper

Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake had been friends and wrestling colleagues for a number of years. Suddenly and inexplicably, Hogan and Beefcake seemed to drift apart in real life and became increasingly cold and distant to one another. In 2017, Brutus Beefcake revealed that he and Hogan’s friendship was indeed strained. Beefcake claimed that after Hogan became separated with his wife Linda, Hogan started talking to Beefcake’s then girlfriend Missy over the phone.

Beefcake said that Hogan made advances towards Missy to fool around. Beefcake accused Hulk of treating his girlfriend as if she was “wild” and was into things like that. When Missy turned down Hogan…Beefcake said that Hulk turned on her and began badmouthing her to both Brutus and Brutus’ ex wife. Beefcake said that he was going to stand by his woman no matter what and that caused a strain in the Hogan and Beefcake’s friendship. The duo have since reunited and put aside their bad feelings for one another.
Kliq Magnet

In 1998, while ECW was holding a show in Florida, PJ Polanco (Justin Credible/Aldo Montoya) invited his good friend Scott Hall backstage to visit. Hall, who was still wrestling for WCW, was not welcome in the dressing room with open arms. That was especially the case with ECW faction ‘The Triple Threat’ which consisted of Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido. It wasn’t so much that Hall was with the competition at the time…but rather the way he and his other Kliq members treated all three of the Triple Threat while working for the WWF years prior.

Shane Douglas was especially upset seeing Scott Hall backstage and made it know immediately. Douglas started yelling and screaming at Hall and charged ‘The Bad Guy’ only to be held back by Candido and Bigelow. According to Bigelow, Hall was drunk or high when he came into the back and wanted to kick his ass himself..but feared that Paul Heyman would not approve of their actions. Bigelow stated that all Hall had to do was apologize for the way he and the Kliq treated all of them…but Scott just left and nothing was settled at that time.
Getting Stupid With Cupid

In the 1950’s and 60’s, there was a ‘midget’ wrestler named Fuzzy Cupid. Cupid stood an even 4 feet and weighed 86 pounds and was often referred to as ‘The Gorgeous George of Midget Wrestling.’ According to friends, Cupid lived up to his gimmick name and was often seen with a regular sized woman on his arm every night. Fuzzy Cupid often played a heel character and wasn’t well liked by fans in or out of the ring.
On one instance in his career, Fuzzy Cupid (real name Leon Stap) was stabbed by an angry fan and suffered a four inch deep wound to his stomach. Luckily, Fuzzy Cupid survived the attack and continued his wrestling career.
Such A Drag

New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kota Ibushi made headlines in Japan several years ago. It was alleged that Ibushi was caught talking to and embracing (hugging) a prostitute. The Japanese media got wind of the story and briefly became a small scandal. In Japanese culture…a celebrity like a movie star, a musician or athlete are held to higher standards. If the fans or media discovered one of their celebs behaving in some sort of scandalous way…they would often be shunned.
In the case of Kota Ibushi, it turned out that the woman was not a prostitute at all, but a famous drag queen of some sort and the “scandal” soon disappeared.
