This is the 237th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Gimme the Drugs Oregon

Back in the 1980s, in the Oregon territory, wrestlers Buddy Rose, Colonel Debeers, Brian Adams and several others were partying at a well-known drug dealer’s condo. The drug dealer would often invite the wrestlers over to his home to drink booze, smoke weed and snort cocaine as they were the dealer’s biggest clients. One night, those aforementioned wrestlers were all taking drugs at the condo, when the dealer suddenly collapsed.
He started to convulse after apparently overdosing on some cocaine. While several of the wrestlers were in full panic mode as they were in a home full of illegal drugs and a dealer dying on the floor. Instead of calling for an ambulance, Buddy Rose began wandering around the place. One of the other wrestlers asked what Rose was doing and maybe they should call for help. Rose allegedly said that he wasn’t going to call for help until he found where the dealer’s stash was hidden.
They eventually found the stash and called for paramedics and they took off leaving the dealer behind. No word whatever became of the drug dealer, but no charges were ever made against Rose or the other wrestlers.
I’m Going to Funk You Up

While waiting at an airport, Terry Funk spotted a wrestler/promoter named Pedro Martinez. Pedro had been running an “outlaw” wrestling promotion in the Amarillo, Texas area. That was considered a Funk territory. Terry admittedly confronted Martinez and attacked him.
Funk was arrested at the airport for assault and spent the night in jail. Pedro Martinez would go on to sue both Funk and Eastern Airlines an estimated 19 million dollars. Funk would eventually settle out of court and paid Martinez $5,000.
Knocked Out

Belladonna was considered one of the very first TNA Knockouts in the promotion’s history. She was a valet to Father James Mitchell and his ‘New Church’ faction. Belladonna would often interfere in matches and take bumps inside the ring. She seemingly disappeared from TNA and all of wrestling for several years.

In January of 2019, Belladonna was found unresponsive one evening in her home. While EMTs worked on her, they were able to get her heart beating again. It was later determined that she had gone too long without oxygen and the decision was made to take her off life support. Belladonna apparently had battled addiction for several years prior to her death. Her cause of death was never made public. Belladonna was only 39 years old at the time of her death.
Dirty Sanchez

A 33-year-old southern California independent wrestler nicknamed ‘Chippy Sanchez’ met a 12-year-old girl on MySpace back in 2009. The two struck up a friendship and arranged a meeting at a park. After hanging out for a couple of hours, Sanchez took the under-aged girl to a motel. It is there where Sanchez allegedly asked the girl to perform oral sex on him.
The victim was able to escape the room once Chippy left to get food. She tracked down a traffic cop and told them what had occurred in the room. Police eventually arrested Sanchez and he was charged with a felony aggravated sexual assault of a child and felony lewd acts on a child under 14. Sanchez was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
