This is the 211th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Heller Skeller

During an independent Lucha Libre match in Mexico in July of 2018 pitting Black Skeller Sr. and Black Skeller Jr. against Enigmatic Sr.and Enigmatic Jr., a scary situation developed. According to reports, Black Skeller Sr. was allegedly drunk right before his tag team match. As the match progressed, a still drunk Black Skeller Sr. attacked the Enigmatics valet, La Enigmatica. It was apparently not a part of the planned show.

Black Skeller Sr. began kicking, slapping and pulling the young valet’s hair. He then grabbed a chair from the audience and legitimately hit the young woman over the head with it. La Enigmatica immediately fell unconscious and began to convulse on the ground. Fans started to realize that this wasn’t scripted and came to her aid. There was no medical staff on duty for this show and an ambulance had to be called to help her.

The young valet was hospitalized with a serious concussion and numerous bumps and bruises. The authorities were notified and there is/was an investigation that was being conducted. No word as of this writing, whatever happened in the case, but numerous luchadors took to social media to ban Black Skeller Sr. from wrestling ever again.

Blackjack Blackballed

In 1986, Blackjack Mulligan was working for World Class Championship Wrestling as a top heel. As WCCW was building a program against Kevin Von Erich, Mulligan got into a couple of different locker room incidents. The first began with a heated dispute between Mulligan and referee Rick Hazzard backstage. The two argued and Mulligan ended up slapping Hazzard across the face.

Apparently, no disciplinary actions were taken against Mulligan at that time, because they were still building an angle with Kevin Von Erich. Later that week, however, Mulligan got into another confrontation backstage. Blackjack Mulligan who was nursing a few injuries, refused to get in the ring with Kevin Von Erich citing his injuries and stating that Von Erich was too stiff in the ring and could re-injure himself. Upon hearing this, Kevin confronted Mulligan and the two began to brawl.

Reportedly, Mulligan got the best of Von Erich in that fight and was immediately fired by Kevin’s Dad Fritz Von Erich. Fritz was so angry, he nearly fired the booker at the time, David Manning, because Manning was aware of Mulligan’s previous incident with Rick Hazzard and did nothing about it. Fritz believed if Manning had fired Mulligan after that incident, the fight with his son would have never happened. David Manning wound up still employed by World Class Championship Wrestling.

AJ Was Not Okay

Former WWE star AJ Lee admitted that she suffers from Bi-Polar Disorder. Before she was properly diagnosed with the mental illness, AJ overdosed on prescription painkillers. At the time, it was her way of trying to deal with the crippling bouts of depression. It was what she classified as a suicide attempt, but didn’t realize it at the time. Luckily, AJ survived her overdose and she went to get properly diagnosed.

A Bad Week For The Iron Sheik

After losing the WWF title to Hulk Hogan at Madison Square Garden in 1984, the Iron Sheik would find himself in trouble with the law less than a week later. While driving to a show, the Iron Sheik stopped to get gas. Apparently, the Sheik was already dressed in his gear. The gas attendant allegedly saw the Iron Sheik and refused to pump gas for the wrestler. He even allegedly went as far as to tell the Iron Sheik to do it himself and that ‘nobody wants you around here you commie.’

The Iron Sheik then allegedly pumped his own gas, threw the money in the attendant’s face and shoved him to the ground. The attendant called the police and they were able to catch up with the Sheik and was arrested for the assault. The Iron Sheik denied the attendant’s claims and hired a lawyer. Eventually, the charges were dropped against the Iron Sheik much to the dismay of the gas attendant.
