This is the 166th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

The Bodyguard needs a Bodyguard

The island of Puerto Rico has been notoriously known for its rabid wrestling fan base. Spectators have been known to throw objects into the ring and at the wrestlers. Items like food, rocks, batteries and sometimes even dirty diapers have been used to hit wrestlers they don’t particularly care for. One night in 1997, a fan would go above and beyond to let a wrestler know that he didn’t like him.

A wrestler by the name of ‘Victor the Bodyguard’ was in the ring and had just defeated his opponent for the evening. A fan was so disgusted by the outcome, he jumped the railing that separates the audience from the ring and allegedly tackled a security guard/cop that was at ringside. The crazed fan managed to grab the guard’s nightstick and rushed into the ring with it as a weapon. The fan repeatedly struck Victor the Bodyguard over the head with the stick busting him open.

Other wrestlers and more security ran into the ring and subdued the fan from doing any further damage. He was subsequently arrested and taken away. As for Victor, he was rushed to a local hospital where he needed 17 stitches to close up the wound on his head.

Murphy’s Law

Former TNA wrestler ‘Murphy’ real name Michael Cole (No relation in anyway to the WWE announcer) was at a South Carolina independent show in 2009. Apparently, the promoter of that event, Donovan Loftis said some disparaging things about Murphy on a wrestling message board. According to Loftis, the things he said were all playful joking manner but Murphy didn’t see it that way.

Loftis was with his young son backstage carrying some boxes…when Murphy sucker punched the promoter. The punch knocked down Loftis and before he could get back up, Murphy kicked him in the head. The kick left Donovan Loftis unconscious. The police were called in and arrested Murphy on the scene.

Hercy Jerky

In 1992, Vince McMahon and the WWF were battling the Federal government over steroid use within the company. McMahon made the decision to enforce a stricter drug policy due to the investigation which banned all illegal substances including marijuana. The night before the new policy went into effect, all the boys on the roster decided to have one more night of hard partying.

Vince McMahon even joined in on the fun and showed up to the hotel drunk. Sargent Slaughter was there by McMahon’s side as his designated driver. The party first went into the hotel bar with a bunch of the wrestlers going up to Ric Flair’s room to continue the party afterwards. According to Bret Hart, Flair would drop his pants and urinate on his own bed.

McMahon would also join the wrestlers in Flair’s room. It was there that McMahon and Hercules Hernandez started play fighting with one another. Somehow, things got carried away and Hernandez started getting extra rough with the WWF owner. By the time the party ended, everyone was either passed out in the room or headed out to do whatever, including McMahon. Less than a month later, Hercules was fired from the company. Many wrestlers who were on hand that night of partying believe Hercules was fired because of that rough housing incident in Flair’s hotel room.

That’s Amore

Enzo Amore hasn’t been exactly the most beloved wrestler behind the scenes in WWE. Rumors are that he isn’t allowed in the dressing room of his fellow “superstars.” Apparently, it all stems from Enzo’s attitude and mouth backstage. That isn’t all that has gotten Enzo into some hot water with other WWE personnel.

In the Summer of 2017, NXT wrestler Liv Morgan announced that she had split from Enzo. The couple had been dating since 2016 and knew each other long before the start of both their WWE careers. Liv made it known through social media that her and Enzo were no longer together. She even went as far to insinuate that Enzo was a cheater and had been unfaithful to her for a majority of their relationship.

Enzo Amore has bragged in the past about going to strip clubs and dropping a lot of money on strippers. One stripper that encountered Enzo went on social media to talk about her experience with him. Allegedly, Amore tried picking her up with lines like he was a WWE superstar and that he had a ton of money. He was high and didn’t if he failed a WWE Wellness test because all he had to do was a pay a fine etc, etc.

Regardless, Liv Morgan has seemingly moved on from Enzo rather quickly. It has appeared that former WWE United Kingdom champion Tyler Bate has swooped in. While nothing has been made official as of this writing, it does appear that Liv and Tyler are dating. As for Enzo, it doesn’t seem like he cares one way or the other.
