This Week in Wrestling: Week 7 of 2026
I try to be objective with all the different wrestling companies and their styles. What someone considers trash, others might consider it as art. I love that there are different options in wrestling, believe me, nobody wants another WWE monopoly like it was back in 2001.
As much as WWE is the leader as far as wrestling companies go, they really need to do more with some of the talent they have. I get it, there is just so much time to push certain wrestlers. Not everyone is going to get enough TV time to get themselves over. Let’s just zero in on WWE’s tag team division. Where is it?
WWE has a plethora of good to great tag teams that aren’t seeing the light of day on television…or at least not nearly enough. The Street Profits, War Raiders, The Garzas, Motor City Machine Guns, etc. It seems that Triple H is falling into the same category of his father in law by ignoring the fact that great tag team matches can and do exist.
I long for the days of great tag team wrestling between the Midnight Express and Rock N Roll Express. The bloodbaths between the Fantastics and the Sheepherders. Edge and Christian vs the Hardys vs the Dudley Boyz in ladder matches. If pushed properly tag team wrestling can and will “get over.” Instead, HHH seems to be ignoring the brunt of tag team wrestling to just focus on singles competitors.
I get that guys like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and the ilk sell the majority of tickets, but to completely ignore tag team wrestling is foolish. HHH seemingly has changed since being the lead booker or whatever title they gave him. NXT had some classic tag teams with the Revival, American Alpha, even Enzo and Big Cass. I’d like to see them get back to pushing tag team wrestling. I may be in the minority on this subject, but I don’t think so.

I agree with you about tag-team wrestling. I was loving it in AEW for a lil while when they had FTR, Lucha Bros, Young Bucks, SCU, etc.
