Vince-anity
With the recent creative doldrums WWE seemingly are in…some fans have made it known that they would welcome Vince McMahon back in charge. Yes, Vince had a great deal in elevating the company from a regional territory into the global juggernaut it is today. He was bold, gutsy and ambitious at a time when other promoters were simply satisfied to rest on their laurels. He used cable, in particular MTV before anyone else did. He had a vision and a long term plan for his company.

Now granted, he didn’t do it all alone. He had a lot of help from veterans like Pat Patterson and Gorilla Monsoon who had great creative minds. He also had the luxury of having the biggest box office attraction…perhaps in the entire history of wrestling in Hulk Hogan to lead his expansion nationally and ultimately globally. When things became stale and “uncool,” McMahon shook things up and changed formats whether it was the New Generation, the Attitude Era or the Ruthless Aggression era. McMahon always seemed ahead of the curve.
The thing is, Vince lost that in his last years controlling the ship creatively. Sure, the company continued to grow financially, but his sophomoric jokes in storylines fell flat. Many of the characters he presented on TV never hit the mark. Vince had a type of wrestler he envisioned to become “superstars.” They had to be big, preferably muscular and had that certain look. His famous quote was “We don’t sign stars, we make stars.” So much talent was wasted under Vince’s watch simply because he didn’t see their value.
While I will always appreciate Vince for what he contributed to the wrestling industry, you can’t overlook his many flaws leading up to his downfall. The steroid trials, the ring boy scandals, the sexual harassment cases, his failed outside projects, and as stated…his lack of creating new stars and redundant storylines.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that Vince had a great run, but time made him into something other than someone you would call a “genius.” I don’t know if his son in law Triple H is the answer to take WWE farther and more successful creatively. As of now, he is the one getting to call the shots and time will tell. Vince McMahon is no longer a viable option.

Never though I’d want a cold shower after a hot bath pix but damn Elektra btw what’s with Sol Ruca having a heart tatt saying Zaria?
That Leon Slater/Je’von Evans Bound for Glory match was beyond epic kinda sucks it didn’t have a solid finish. Bigup Santana getting his moment it was brewing awhile.
For me, the Creative direction is too often a subtle slow burn with a ‘schlock’ payoff like the stable build & attacks by the Vision leading to the turning on Rollins at the end of Crown Jewel after he ‘finally’ beats Rhodes where, to me, it will build into another slow hinting burn of Rhodes possibly turning?
Either way, Creative is putting more into their focused match feuds at the expense of other feuds being left dangling like Giulia’s ~US title run and the men’s tag team. It’s an odd juggling for sure.

Not a popular take, especially in the world of mostly leftist wrestling fans, or the vocal ones anyways, but I have no problem with Vince’s affair and actions, other than not living up to his agreement and paying her.
BUT I have zero interest in him coming back. Just like players and managers in sports his time has come and gone. Fans always want changes when things are going the way they want it in their minds. But Vince has no new ideas and would be a bad choice by TKO to take over creative. And by the way, no chance it’s happening because they don’t t see the money in it either, which is really all that matters to them.

Simply do not understand why folks still want to drink Vince’s piss.

Perhaps it’s quality piss. Look at what it did to his hair when he was pissing in the rain…
Luke
Wind, goddammit… Pissing in the wind. It’s raining here all month, it’s screwing with my head…

Why is there a picture of Sputnik Monroe here?
No opinion on Vince at this point. Granted, his final years sucked dick, but if WWE’s gonna use AI, we’re screwed either way.
Maybe someone will step up and fill the void with something new. Or maybe they’ll bring back Rollergames or something…
