This week in Wrestling: Week 35 in 2025

Despite AEW holding their ‘Forbidden Door’ and NXT Heatwave events this past week, most of the talk in the wrestling world surrounds something that occurred at an independent show. Raja Jackson (The son of former MMA and pro wrestler ‘Rampage’ Jackson) was involved in a violent confrontation with an indie wrestler named Syko Stu. The confrontation nearly killed Syko Stu and had wrestling fans and wrestlers themselves talking extensively about it.

It apparently all started when Syko Stu smashed a beer can on the head of Raja Jackson. The video of that seemed that Stu was either playing around or was drunk and decided to mess with Raja. Either way, Raja was encouraged to get a receipt or payback on Stu during his wrestling match. The person in Raja’s ear was a fellow indie worker named AJ Mana, who appeared to be getting Jackson riled up. 

Fast forward to the actual violent incident, Raja rushes into the ring takes down Syko Su and proceeds to legitimately punch him about 20 times in the face. Stu was unconscious by the first or second punch, but Raja continued punching Stu until a fellow wrestler named The Epic pulled Raja off of the unconscious Stu. Epic very well may have saved the life of Syko Stu who suffered facial injuries and loss of several teeth.

The news of this incident quickly went viral with TMZ covering the incident. Several wrestlers and personalities chimed in on the situation like Rob Van Dam, Mark Henry, Jim Cornette and Gregory Helms. Some were condemning Raja’s actions, while others defended him. The aftermath of all of this is still being sorted out. The police are investigating the matter, while the person who encouraged Raja to do what he did…AJ Mana was fired by the promotion and fired from his normal 9 to 5 job as well. 

The promotion that hosted the event Knokx Pro run by former WWE star Rikishi were stripped of their WWE ID affiliation almost immediately. It was also said that Rikishi and his team instructed the wrestlers not to cooperate with police on this matter. It has been rumored that Rikishi is now banned from WWE events. 

As for Syko Stu, he is currently recovering in a local hospital and a Go Fund me was started to help pay his medical bills with Chris Jericho donating 2,500 dollars in that effort. 

Getting back to Rikishi, my personal opinion of him has soured greatly over the years. Rikishi complained to his son Jimmy Uso to not get married on a particular day because Rikishi had a wrestling booking that conflicted with that. Rikishi also went on his podcast and blasted his daughter in law Naomi for getting pregnant while a WWE champion. Now this situation with Raja Jackson and directing his wrestlers not to cooperate with the police investigation.

Hopefully Syko Stu makes a complete recovery from the assault. As for Raja Jackson, he may need to spend a bit of time behind bars.  Raja is a trained fighter who knew he could use his hands to kill and was completely reckless in that situation. Syko Stu was foolish to mess with Raja in the first place and suffered the consequences. Luckily, he will survive. All in all, a very horrible incident which could have been much worse.
