Welcome to Ring the Damn Bell’s newest version of ‘This Week in Wrestling.’ Considering a former WWE wrestler/Diva got our blog shutdown by publishing content that we shouldn’t have published, there will no longer by a NSFW section on here. Just talking wrasslin’ and having fun.
Here we are again. Our first entry for ‘This Week in Wrestling’ in several weeks. We unfortunately were shut down by our hosting company for publishing pics that were not allowed and despite not receiving any warnings, our site was suspended and basically had to start over. So here we are again, with a revamped site and new version of TWIW.

Last weekend saw Bill Goldberg have his retirement match in WWE on Saturday Night’s Main Event against reigning World champion Gunther. The match itself was okay, considering Goldberg can’t do half the stuff he used to do and even then, was very limited offensively. It seemed like a nice send off for a WCW guy in a WWE ring complete with cameos from Doug Dellinger, DDP and Ernest Miller. His son Gage (who more than likely will eventually get into the wrestling business) got involved in the action and Goldberg did his signature spear and jackhammer despite losing in the end.
After the match ended, Goldberg was allowed a farewell speech, which was unfortunately cut off by NBC. Despite that, Goldberg did get a final match with a world title at stake, a match in front of his hometown in Atlanta, Georgia and main evented a show on national television. After it was all said and done, Goldberg conducted an interview stating he was unhappy with the send off WWE provided. This is where Goldberg lost me.
Granted, the match was sub par, but considering Goldberg is in his late 50’s and hadn’t wrestled in years I think it was okay for what it was. Everybody gets on Bret Hart for being bitter towards Goldberg for ending his career and most of it is justifyable. Goldberg has come off just as bitter and miserable. Could the presentation of Goldberg’s final match have been better? Absolutely. With that said, appreciate you got anything on the stage you got it done on.
For some reason, I get the feeling that we haven’t heard and seen the last of him in a wrestling ring. Crazy as that sounds, we just might see Goldberg book himself another retirement match somewhere. Who knows?
Unfortunate News on Marcus ‘Buff’ Bagwell

Prayers and best wishes go out to Marcus ‘Buff’ Bagwell after having a portion of his leg amputated stemming from an accident a few years ago. Bagwell has battled drug and alcohol addiction during and after his full time career. He has made strides with his sobriety with the help of Diamond Dallas Page and DDP yoga. Here is hoping Bagwell can continue to progress in his life.
AJ Styles Returns to TNA

After over 12 years away from TNA Wrestling and the Phenomenal AJ Styles will finally return to a TNA ring for the promotion’s Slammiversary show in New York. There was a lot of bad feelings over the years with Styles vowing never to return and repeatedly turning down offers to be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. Now that WWE and TNA have this partnership, Styles seems poised to return to the promotion that really gave him a spotlight on US soil.

Great to see you back, hopefully the issues with the new site (like this impossible to use comments section) can be sorted soon enough.
Definitely going to miss that NSFW section though, it was always a highlight of the week.

This updating to a new website couldn’t have been easy, thank you for all the efforts especially dealing with any issues and the amount of blogs you had to transfer. It must still be so much more to do but so far it looks like the main popular blogs are here!

I honestly never saw it with Goldberg. Always found him to be an untalented, egotistical ass. And yes, I’m sure he will pull a Ric Flair and have another final/retirement/yes, this time for real match. The news about Marcus Bagwell is shocking. He has turned so much around, I am sure he will conquer this. I bet he will be running on that prosthetic leg in no time.

to be honest… I miss the NSFW section

Hey BD. Missed ya. Unfortunately, the new site sucks. I’d say more, but I’m typing white on white right now, need to highlight the text every few words to see what I typed. I’m gonna guess this is the main reason why there are no comments… This is not the only problem.

Wow…you mentioned Saturday Night’s Main Event, AJ Styles, Bagwell….but NOTHING about All In, which was the highlight of the past weekend. Talk about favoritism.
Bon doleBon
