The If Factor is a series of articles that features real scenarios in pro wrestling that, at one point or another, were suggested, planned, and considered but did not get the green light to continue. What would the landscape of professional wrestling look like if these ideas came to fruition?

The If: The Diamond Studd Stays in WCW and Joins Paul E. Dangerously’s Dangerous Alliance
In 1992, Scott Hall had successfully reinvented himself as ‘The Diamond Studd.’ WCW had plans to move the Diamond Studd up the card and align him with Paul E. Dangerously and his stable called ‘The Dangerous Alliance.’ He was booked to takeover for the aging Larry Zbyszko in the faction.
Before that happened, Scott Hall’s contract, which was only for one year, was up. Hall supposedly asked for a guarateed contract for more money and more years and was rejected by the company. Instead, WCW offered the exact same deal they offered him the first go around for approximately one year.
Hall rejected the contract offer and immediately quit the company. He would join the World Wrestling Federation a few days later. What if WCW gave him more money and years on his deal? We certainly would have never gotten ‘Razor Ramon’ in the WWF. What would a pairing of the Diamond Studd and Paul E. Dangerously be like? Would it have worked?

Scott Hall would’ve been a Paul Heyman/Paul E. Dangerously guy if he had the money guaranteed by Turner and I wouldn’t been surprised if he showed up in ECW sober.
