The ‘If Factor’ are a series of articles that takes a look at real scenarios in pro wrestling that at one point or another were suggested, planned, considered…but did not get the green light to continue. What would the landscape of professional wrestling look like if these ideas came to fruition?

The If: Missy Hyatt Made Valet/Manager of ‘The Macho Man’ Randy Savage
In 1985, the World Wrestling Federation signed Macho Man Randy Savage to a deal. The WWF was committed on pushing Savage as a really big deal. For weeks, various segments were aired on WWF television where a number of managers were vying for his services. Ultimately, Randy Savage revealed that he chose a valet by the name of Miss Elizabeth.
According to Missy Hyatt, she said that she was the original choice to manage Randy Savage in the WWF. Hyatt said that then WWF booker George Scott called her and offered her the opportunity. Hyatt accepted and was on her way to prepare for the role, when Savage himself put the brakes on the idea.
Randy Savage insisted that his real life wife Elizabeth get the job, citing that only she knew him the best to do the job right. Missy Hyatt would have to wait a bit longer before she made her WWF debut in a much different role. What would the landscape of the WWF be if Missy Hyatt managed Randy Savage? Would she still have the same impact that Miss Elizabeth had?
