The ‘If Factor’ are a series of articles that takes a look at real scenarios in pro wrestling that at one point or another were suggested, planned, considered…but did not get the green light to continue. What would the landscape of professional wrestling look like if these ideas came to fruition?

The If: Kaitlyn Joins WWE’s Wyatt Family in 2013
Tom Casiello was a former creative writer for WWE, who mainly worked with the female talent on the roster. He revealed that in 2013, there were discussions about adding a female member to the Wyatt Family faction. The woman mainly talked about was Celeste Bonin aka ‘Kaitlyn’ in WWE. According to Casiello, Kaitlyn had lost the Divas title and was really without a storyline after her title loss. The idea was pitched to have Kaitlyn feeling alone and depressed after losing and having Bray Wyatt appear to her and offer his hand to her. The picture would then fade to black and the next time we saw Kaitlyn, she would be a member of the faction under Wyatt’s influence.
Casiello said that while Kaitlyn would be a full fledged Wyatt Family member, she was not going to be ‘Sister Abigail.’ He said the idea was ultimately scrapped, after Vince McMahon and the WWE higher ups felt that her kidnapping and brainwashing could be misinterpreted. Ultimately the idea never came to fruition, and Celeste Bonin eventually left the company in January of 2014. Could Kaitlyn have added something special to the Wyatt Family? Would fans “Let her in” so to speak?
