Joe King
Standing at 6’2″ and weighing in at 264 pounds was Blade Walker! He had star power! He had the look, the size, and the skill-set. He had a lot of awesome power moves in his repertoire. From day one, I thought this guy was a sure-fire soon to be WWE prospect! I remember him having 3 titles at once before! He worked on top in both Georgia and Florida for promotions like NWA South Atlantic, GPXW, Heatwave, R&B, and many more. He held the NWA South Atlantic Heavyweight Championship for a solid 182 straight days! His notable feuds include: Scotty Bullwinkle, Stormy Granzig, Jamie Hall, Rouge, Kaos, and Vern Von Roske.
•When did you get your start in pro wrestling?

BLADE:I got started in 1999 when a very good friend of mine introduced the owner of Thunder Wrestling Federation, CB Cane.
•Were you a fan growing up?
BLADE:Yeah I was and still to this day a very big fan of wrestling.
•I worked on several shows with you through the years in Georgia…but I know you also did a lot of work in Florida. Is that correct?

BLADE:Oh I remember a lot of those shows that you worked with me through the years in Georgia my friend… And yes you are correct I worked quite a few feds down in Florida. Just off the top of my head some of them were NWA South Atlantic Championship Wrestling. Another one was called Heatwave and then TNT down in the panhandle of Florida. And there were quite a few other ones that I worked down there in Florida that I can’t quite remember the names of.
•I met you through my life-long best friend Vic(Eagle-1/R.I.P). I remember you came by my house with him and we played WCW/NWO Revenge. Any 1 memory of Vic that you care to share?

BLADE: I do remember that so clearly hanging out with you and Vic God rest his soul. I remember when I had to wrestle Vic back up in Georgia. And GPXW it was in a tag team that he was tagged up with James SWAT. That my friend was a very brutal match, and I remember Vic got busted open. And he had the idea of me chopping him in the forehead where he was busted open. And if I remember correctly at that show Scotty Bullwinkle was commentating. And as I was chopping Vic in the forehead blood was splashing all over. And it made this sick popping sound which made the crowd pop. And of course after that you know we all went out and had a good time.
•You were very-well respected in the locker room. Another guy, whom you just mentioned and I recently did a piece on, Scotty Bullwinkle, talked very fondly of you as well.

BLADE: Man! I remember, me and Scotty Bullwinkle had just met each other and we worked the opposite of each other. And one time we had said to each other, man it would be really cool if we could work each other. And wouldn’t you know it a few shows later we worked a series of matches and me and him have became good friends since then and I loved working Scotty!
•You were the biggest guy at 90% of the shows we worked. I always thought with your look and skills, that someone HAD TO have scouted you at some point?

BLADE: Yes you are correct! I did have people scouting for me at one time. Me and a buddy of mine Jamie Hall were about to go down to WXW. They were searching for tag teams down there and were going to give us a shot. That was the FED that the wild Samoans owned. But unfortunately, that’s where my wrestling career came to a halt…because I wound up getting into a very bad tractor trailer accident. But I was in the business for 15 years, if I can remember correctly. And if it wasn’t for that accident I possibly could have been with the WWE or TNA right now! God I miss the business so bad!!!
•My back and neck were both shot years and years ago. How has Blade held up through the years?
BLADE: Like I said in the last paragraph if it wasn’t for me getting into the tractor trailer accident I believe to this day I would still be doing it. But I’m guess things happen for a reason. God has blessed me with the opportunity to do what I did in the ring for as long as I did. But eventually, I’m looking to get back in and be like a manager or maybe in like a CEO role…which I have done a few times since my accident a few years ago.
