Curt Hennig received three offers to join the WWF in the 1980’s. He turned down two of the three offers. The first was in 1986….when AWA promoter promised Hennig the world title. A year later…in 1987…WWF came calling again. Curt was still not the world champion and decided to take WWF’s offer. Hennig only stayed with the AwA after his father Larry Hennig pleaded with his son to stick around. He was finally made AWA world champion. A year later, in 1988, Hennig finally jumped ship to the WWF.
