Answering the 10 Count: Interview with Devon “Hannibal” Nicholson from The Hannibal TV

October 31, 2025

Joe King

Earlier this year I conducted an interview with Devon “Hannibal” Nicholson about a match that was scheduled against Super Crazy at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia. The show wound up being a major disappointment to fans when the promoter backed out of the deal the day before the show. I don’t know how you do that and call yourself a promoter when your biggest attraction gets canceled. Devon has found major success and continues to thrive on YouTube as his channel The Hannibal TV is now closing in on 500,000 Subscribers and has over 281 million views where he posts daily wrestling news, conducts shoot interviews, and wrestling matches from around the world. Lately he has been hard at work both acting and producing the Blood Hunter: Thirst and Rage movie series. It’s a horror movie series that features vampires, intense action & fight scenes, and plenty of blood. Episode 1, titled “A Vampire’s Dark Desire” is available now on YouTube. I caught up with Devon and asked him about the film and what else he has coming up in 2026. Here’s the interview:

Blood Hunter: Thirst and Rage

Episode 1- A Vampire’s Dark Desire

Interview with Devon “Hannibal” Nicholson from The Hannibal TV

•First off, thank you Devon, for doing another interview with me and letting me be do some of the artwork that was used to promote the film, Blood Hunter: Thirst and Rage:

You’re welcome. Thank you for helping out.

•I know I’m gonna get heat and ragged for this…but I’m not gonna lie, when the accident with the referee happened, I became an even bigger fan! Not that I wanted a bad outcome or anything as I kept checking on his well-being online as well. I’m just not entertained by the stuff out these days and this was huge news and something that I just had to watch at the time.

The referee accident…which, by the way, he wasn’t actually the referee of that match between me and Carlito. People always forget he was actually just paid to bleed. That was his only job on that show. There was a different referee for the actual match and of course it was 100% an accident.

•When did the opportunity to make the movie first come about? And who approached you about doing the movie?

It’s funny that you brought that up about the whole referee incident, because the original producers of the movie got the idea after seeing that happen. They were going to produce it but that didn’t end up happening. There were actually three different people that were going to do this movie since 2022. And a lot of them weren’t serious. So finally I ended up just producing it myself after it didn’t work with other producers and I was produced with a British director who I had worked with before on some other projects in Canada.

•I know you have done a couple of roles in previous films. Did performing in front of crowds as a wrestler help you perform better in front of the camera, you think? Because I’ve gotta say, you put on a pretty damn good performance in Blood Hunter: Thirst and Rage:

Wrestling helped for sure. That and being a huge horror movie fan ever since I was a kid. I’ve also been doing movie roles and commercials. You know, small parts here and there, since 2014. But this was definitely the most dialogue I’ve ever done, so it was a challenge and definitely a learning experience.

•The first episode, A Vampire’s Dark Desire, recently dropped. When can we expect Episode 2?

Episode Two is going to come out at some point in 2026. We’re working on it right now. And episode two is probably going to be longer. Definitely some of the same people that were in episode one, because obviously there’s a lot of unfinished business. And it was great working with Darren McBee and Frank Jasper. Darren played Petrov and Frank Jasper from the Vision Quest movie played as Razor in this movie. Frank Jasper, he was great to work with because Vision Quest is one of my favorite movies. As a former national champion amateur wrestler, I probably saw that movie about 30 times. So that was pretty cool. And Tank Abbott is one of my all-time favorite UFC fighters.

It was cool getting to have an actual fight scene with him in the movie. One reason I did do this movie was to test, as a former independent wrestling promoter, if it would be easier to make a movie than put on an independent wrestling show. And I definitely found that it’s actually way more difficult to do that. You meet some real assholes. And you meet some wonderful people, but it’s stressful. And it’s funny. One of the scenes where I tell the girl playing Candy to “f off”, we actually changed the scene because she was being such a diva after she’d flown in. There were a lot of fly-ins for this movie.

People flew in from all over the country to be part of this movie. Some people flew in even as far as England. But anyway, she had flown-in and was being a real diva, so we actually changed the scene to me just telling her to “F-off” because that was how I felt about her at that point.

•I seen your recent interview with Marty Jannetty. Why don’t they put that guy in the WWE Hall of Fame already?!! He’s one of the most well-deserving still out there.

He deserves to be in there. Definitely more than people like Stacy Keibler. He’s a really good dude that I consider a good friend. But as we all know, he doesn’t have the greatest track record with his personal demons and all and being so unpredictable. But like he said, Shawn Michaels will definitely want to become the first 3-time WWE Hall of Fame inductee(which he would become if The Rockers are to be inducted), so I would think it’s only a matter of when at this point.

•Thank you, brother. Keep up the great work! When are we gonna see you make a return to the ring?

Hopefully you’ll see me back in the ring a bit next year. And I currently have a collaboration deal with JCW, where I’m posting a lot of their footage and I’ll be doing some backstage interviews at their event in Wichita, Kansas this month. So I’m looking forward to that. Thanks a lot, Joe.

Devon has been good to me. He’s a damn good dude if you ask me. We all have our opinions of others and some of us may catch others on a bad day. That’s why I don’t judge people on what others may think of them. About 3 or 4 out of every 5 people hate New Jack too…but I met him and he was cool as hell to me.

  • Why did you change the article and the comments from this morning?

Not sure what you mean? I didn’t change anything. There are two different Devon Nicholson interviews.

  • Nothing but respect for Devon. Got to live out a dream because of him.

    Carny scum, mark for himself.
