Wrestling With Sin: 564

December 29, 2025

Brian Damage

This is the 564th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

WING – Ding

Hot Stuff’ Eddie Gilbert and brother Doug Gilbert were wrestling in Japan for the WING promotion as The Boogie Man and Nightmare Freddie Krueger respectively. In November of 1993, Doug Gilbert was feeling frustrated by the way he and his brother were being used in the promotion. During a match in which Doug was booked to win against his brother Eddie under their masks, Doug decided to let his brother get the pin fall victory instead.

After the match, both Doug and Eddie unmasked and revealed themselves to be brothers, then ran down how bad it was to work for W*ING in a completely unscripted shoot. Doug and Eddie quit the promotion and pledged allegiance to Giant Baba and All Japan Pro Wrestling and then walked out of the building. Booker Victor Quinones would later reveal that Doug and Eddie stole a number of sleeping pills from his luggage and got high which resulted in that shoot promo. Baba refused to book the Gilbert brothers and never appeared in All Japan after that promo.

Bathroom Break

Former WWE star Nick Dinsmore aka Eugene accused former WWE Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano of sexual misconduct against his then future wife model/actress Stephanie Fischer. According to Dinsmore, the incident took place at a Longhorn Steakhouse back in 2008. Dinsmore explained…“We’re at the LongHorn, the woman that would become my wife had to go to the bathroom, she goes to the bathroom. All night Carrano had been [saying] how pretty she is, oh you’re so beautiful, oh my God. I liked the guy before this but he was kind of a weird, creepy guy. She goes to the bathroom, the next thing I know I couldn’t find Carrano. I go and try and open the women’s bathroom door and he’s holding it shut from the inside, foot against the door. She was on the other side of the bathroom so he couldn’t reach her, arms stretched out, kiss me, kiss me, and finally, I pushed my way in and he slithered his little way out,” he continued. “In that moment I didn’t realise how much that affected the girl I was with. How that really upset her and put her in an awkward position. She felt like she had PTSD because she would go in bathrooms later on and then all of a sudden is she gonna get encroached upon by some creepy guy? I didn’t understand in that moment how much it affected her and that was just me because we’re all having a good time and he went right out and she didn’t express it at the time. Or I probably would have gotten a little more upset at Carrano right there in the LongHorn.”

When Dinsmore was rehired by WWE as a coach for the Performance Center, he made sure to alert Human Resources of the incident in question. Nothing happened and a year later, Dinsmore was fired by the WWE as a trainer. Dinsmore added, “When I was released as a coach in 2015 in Orlando at the Performance Center. The night before I got released one of the talent called me, messaged me, text me and said I don’t know if this is real or not but the guy from the office that does the hiring and firing is gonna be there tomorrow and I think you’re gonna get let go. So I get in the meeting where I know I’m getting let go and I told them right there because the HR woman was on speakerphone and I told that story to the guy that was firing me right there and he’s like – there wasn’t really anything he said but I know HR heard it. Was that ever addressed? No, I doubt it. Was that the kinda stuff that was going on inside that office?”

Mark Carrano was fired by WWE in 2021 after he sent released wrestlers their personal belongings in garbage bags and was accused of stealing WWE championship title belts by his ex girlfriend. When Carrano’s ex made that accusation…Dinsmore immediately replied on her social media account…“Where does he store his sexual assault allegations?”

We Fish You A Merry Christmas

In December of 2002, Matt Hardy was hosting a Christmas party at his home. He recalled how erratic and bizarre his brother Jeff’s behavior was during this time. Jeff was battling a number of personal issues including nursing injuries, fatigue/burn out and drug and alcohol addiction. All of these issues combined, led to an extremely uncomfortable situation at Matt’s holiday gathering.

According to Matt, his party started at 9pm, but Jeff didn’t arrive until 2 in the morning. When he did finally show up, he was completely drunk. He gave Matt his Christmas gift, which smelled funny. Once Matt opened the present, he saw a 9 pound fish inside a box. On the fish itself, was writing in marker that said “Matt Follower Version 1.0” This was in reference to Matt’s then WWE gimmick at the time. What made the gift worse, was the fact that Jeff had wrapped the fish two days prior to the party. It completely stunk up Matt’s home.

A Taxing Situation

On February 10, 2025 at around 2:20pm, a phone call was placed at the Internal Revenue Service offices in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. There was a suspicious individual wearing a mask and backpack walking around the building allegedly making terroristic threats to employees. The building had to be evacuated and bomb sniffing dogs searched the premises. They ultimately arrested a man named Charles Hutton.

Hutton works as a professional wrestler named ‘Charlie Tiger’ for various independent promotions including IWA – Mid South, CZW and GCW. This wasn’t the first incident involving Hutton and the IRS. A week earlier, Hutton harassed an employee shouting “Kill the IRS.” Hutton was charged with making terroristic threats and harassment and was released from custody a day later.

While he was awaiting a court appearance for that incident, in March, Hutton was seen wielding a large machete chasing after customers in the parking lot of a Sheetz mini mart in Pennsylvania. Hutton went as far as stabbing a parked van causing over $2,000 in damages before fleeing the scene in a red Subaru. An arrest warrant has been issued after police spoke with eye witnesses and viewed security camera footage.

If you think TKO could give a flying f**** about anything to do with sexual harassment, then you’re the most naive person I’ve ever seen in my life.

To be fair to Charlie, Sheetz did get rid of the 2/.99 hotdogs.

Like Baba would ever book the Gilberts. Seems the WWF/E will never be anything other than a cesspool of sexual harassers. Doubt that anything will change under TKO. Murdoch and Slater would have made one hell of a long term, team.

Totally disagree, there is zero credible evidence there are still accused offenders in WWE. You can say Lesner but I disagree with the premise he knew what was going on with Vince and her. Still Ring Rats in every city and he very well could have thought she was a willing participant. As for TKO, yes I believe a $42 billion dollar company is concerned about sexual abuse issues with their employees.
Easy to blast the past but unfair to say they can’t/haven’t changed and will never be anything other than a cesspool.
      Just my opinion.
