A former model turned professional wrestler/valet, today on the blog we ask…’Whatever Happened to’ Elektra?

Donna Adamo grew up in the New York City area and was a child model. She modeled into her adult life, but felt the calling to become a pro wrestler. She looked into various schools in the NYC area, but felt that if she really wanted to learn to be a female wrestler, she needed to go train with the Fabulous Moolah in South Carolina. Adamo trained with Moolah, Leilani Kai and Velvet McIntyre for several weeks and upon graduating, returned to New York.

Not completely satisfied with her training, Adamo felt that there was more to learn about pro wrestling. She enrolled in ‘Unpredictable’ Johnny Rodz school in Brooklyn to further her wrestling education. It was training with Rodz, where Adamo first met her future husband and fellow ECW alumnus…Big Dick Dudley aka Alex Rizzo. She began working on various independent shows in the north east in 1999 under the gimmick name of ‘Elektra.’ The name was chosen based on the Marvel comic character of the same name.

While trying to make it as a wrestler, Elektra had side jobs working as an emcee and night club manager at gentlemen clubs which included Satin Dolls (Better known as the Bada Bing on the hit television series the Sopranos) Elektra met with Missy Hyatt who was making an appearance at her club and Hyatt helped introduce her to Paul Heyman. She debuted for ECW in October of 1999, where she was a gift from Cyrus (Don Callis) to a depressed Danny Doring after losing Miss Congeniality (Amy Dumas) who left for the WWF. She soon became the valet to Doring and the Amish Roadkill, often interfering in their matches.

Elektra would ultimately dump Doring and Roadkill and align with Lou E. Dangerously’ s ‘Dangerous Alliance’ faction. Elektra would then manage the team of Julio Dinero, Chris Hamrick and EZ Money before the promotion folded and was sold to WWE. She joined TNA wrestling in 2002 and briefly worked there. She worked various indie shows and ultimately retired from the business in 2008.

Elektra focused on outside ventures like acting, modeling and being a scout for strip clubs in the New York/New Jersey area. She appeared in Playboy magazine and made a few cameo appearances on The Sopranos. So the question remains…whatever happened to Elektra?

She has relocated to Davenport, Florida where she remarried and has worked in real estate, as well as the nightclub business in that area. She has a daughter Alexandria from her earlier marriage to Alex ‘Big Dick Dudley’ Rizzo.
