This Week in Wrestling: Week 44 of 2025

Vince is back!

An interesting story developed this past week, when Vince Russo announced that he has become an investor and head creative writer for Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW) run by the Insane Clown Posse. This after Russo declared that 2025 would be the end of him having any affiliation with pro wrestling whatsoever. He insisted that he would stop watching wrestling and stop talking about the current product on his podcasts.

As we know, Vince Russo first gained national attention when he was known as Vic Venom and appeared on the WWF show Livewire and wrote for WWF magazine. He along with Ed Ferrara became head creative writers for the company when Vince McMahon ushered in the Attitude Era. His crash TV style of writing proved very popular and saw the WWF regain its popularity from rival WCW. Granted, much of his work was filtered through McMahon who had the final say on ideas.

After feeling burned out by WWF’s grind, Russo and Ferrara jumped ship to the opposition in WCW. Russo found less success in WCW than his days with the WWF due to much stricter rules and guidelines from Turner executives. Of course, after WCW’s demise, Russo joined his friend Jeff Jarrett and became a writer for Total Nonstop Action aka TNA in the early days of the promotion. Russo even reportedly came up with the name TNA wrestling for the Jarretts. After leaving TNA, Russo briefly rejoined WWE as a consultant, but Stephanie McMahon put an end to that venture.

As for ICP, they have been involved in wrestling for several years with JCW and making various appearances in almost every major wrestling company in the U.S. including WWF, WCW, ECW and TNA. Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope have been there and done that in pro wrestling and now with their partnership with Russo, they are looking to grow their own promotion which has been around since 1999. As crazy as it sounds, JCW’s first event involving Vince Russo was completely sold out with over 2,000 fans in attendance. Was the initial success just out of curiosity or can Russo bring long term success to Juggalo Championship Wrestling?

  • its superb as your other articles : D, thanks for putting up.

  • Kyle Prescott

    Probably just jinxed Tiffy.😀

Russo is pathetic. A man who simply cannot work in a world outside of wrestling. He has nothing so he goes to the lowest common denominator. With the average intelligence of a jugalo, his writing should do just fine, though.

  • Swerve, bro!!! See, where normal people just lie, Vince Russo SWERVES! …BRO!
He’s also claiming he invested in the company. That would mean that he’s effectively paying them to let him do whatever the hell he’s gonna do.

On an unrelated note, here’s a little quiz. Who said the following:
“Hangman Adam Page. The living embodiment of cowboy shit.”
Jim Cornette on his podcast or Tony Schiavone on live TV?
