This week in Wrestling: Week 36 in 2025

Should there be legitimate concern for All Elite Wrestling moving forward? The TV ratings have certainly taken a hit as of late with Collision not even breaking 200k in viewers and Dynamite getting its worst rating to date with less than 500k in viewership. Of course, that doesn’t count people that watched those shows on HBO Max, so there is that, but definitely eye opening nonetheless.

Attendance still isn’t what it should be, despite Tony Khan moving his shows to much smaller venues. It seems that at this point, the only thing keeping AEW afloat, is their TV deal with Warner Discovery. Once that deal expires, will Warner want to invest more money in the brand? Now this isn’t a knock on AEW, because they have such a talented and stacked roster. Overseas, they do very well. It’s in the states…their homebase…where the company has struggled significantly.

For now, I will attribute this week’s poor ratings on the Labor Day weekend and leave it at that. Granted, these shows took place on Saturday and Wednesday…but let’s see if they can rebound a bit next week.Whether you’re an AEW fan, a WWE fan, a fan of both or neither…AEW does have a place in the wrestling world. WWE looks like they are intent to bury the company by booking shows at the same time AEW has events. That has angered some AEW fans, and I get it.

Just keep in mind that Tony Khan and the comments he made on national television calling AEW the Pepsi of professional wrestling and WWE the Jeff Epstein of wrestling. Agree or disagree with that statement, I’m sure that Triple H and Nick Khan heard that and decided to go to war. Tony Khan can be his own worst enemy at times.

Wrong show…

Personally, this was the greatest match I saw in my childhood.

The hell with Jelly Roll, Snoop Dog and Macaulay Culkin…

Congrats to Taz on getting a banner in the old ECW arena.

Go for the Beatles, stay for the wrestling!

Love him or hate him, you have to admire Matt Cardona’s hustle and reinventing himself to become a star on the indie circuit.

At least AJ Lee is back and with six-pack abs! I hope she gets the win in mixed tag team match and the IC title.

  • Why this story after the ending to Chicago Smackdown? Shocked no mention of that at all?!!

  • What’s keeping AEW alive is that Shad is the kind of parent to throw money at the kid instead of time and care.

  • Maybe TK should hire an independent booker for his shows. The product is better but still stale, not sure what’s missing.

I personally gave up on AEW after the the first 8 months of their first year.
