This is the 459th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Hung Kong

Jim Barnett was an extremely influential and powerful wrestling promoter, who at one time owned a piece of the Georgia territory. In December of 1982, Georgia booker Ole Anderson discovered that Barnett was skimming money from the territory. Barnett was allegedly using the money to fund trips to Hong Kong, where he had custom suits made and had various sexual romps.

While on one of those trips to Hong Kong, Ole gathered the other owners of the Georgia territory and convinced them to oust Barnett from the ownership group which included Jerry and Jack Brisco. When Barnett returned home, he found out he was no longer a co owner of Georgia Championship Wrestling. According to Jim Cornette, Barnett was not a man to mess with and looked to seek revenge on Ole and the rest of the GCW ownership group.
Jim Barnett aligned with Vince McMahon and helped McMahon buy out the Georgia territory using inside knowledge he had of the promotion. That of course, led to the infamous ‘Black Saturday’ debacle.
Watts With All These Women

Bill Watts was considered one of the roughest promoters to work for, but also one of the best paying ones at the same time. His Mid South promotion saw some of the biggest stars come through that area over the years. Watts revealed his biggest regret of his career as a wrestler/promoter. It wasn’t trying to turn Mid South into the UWF and go national to compete with the WWF. It wasn’t his extremely strict, old school rules as a promoter. Nor, was it his insistence that his wrestlers win fights that they are involved in off hours or face being fined and/or fired.

Watts said his biggest regret in his long career, was having multiple affairs on his wife. More so, he regretted not hiding said affairs with multiple women and putting his indiscretions on full display in front of his wife and especially his children. Watts said that he never hid his cheating ways to his family and feels he emotionally scarred his kids by doing so.
Nude Jersey

This next entry was sent to me by a woman who asked to remain anonymous. The woman says she is a former beauty pageant and exotic dancer who lives in New Jersey. She claims she met Matt Hardy at a WWE book signing a number of years ago and the two ended up in a brief relationship. “Miss New Jersey” and Hardy always hooked up when he was in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area.

She claims that when she found out that Matt already had a girlfriend in Amy ‘Lita’ Dumas…she broke off their relationship. She did provide a couple of photos together, but asked that her identity remain anonymous. She did say that Matt was a complete gentlemen during their relationship that lasted a couple of months. Obviously, we know that Lita ended up cheating on Matt with his friend Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland.
No More Clowning Around

Independent wrestler Mikey Gordon aka ‘Dirty’ Ron McDonald was arrested in San Diego, California in November of 2022. San Diego Police charged Gordon with false imprisonment with violence and assault with force. Gordon was released on $50,000 bail. Gordon was wrestling for Rob Black’s restarted XPW promotion at the time of his arrest. This wasn’t Gordon’s first run in with the law, he was arrested during this incident we covered a while back.
