She was Fandango’s very first dance partner in WWE. Today on the blog, we ask…’Whatever Happened to’ Lady Fandango?

In 2013, hundreds of female dancers answered an open casting call at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Buffalo, New York from WWE for a professional dance partner to a debuting superstar named ‘Fandango.’ A young 20 year old dancer named Andrea Lynn won out. She apparently wasn’t the company’s first choice, as another dancer got the nod, but allegedly had scheduling conflicts. While Andrea Lynn wasn’t the first choice…according to former WWE road agent Arn Anderson…she was the best choice for Fandango.

After getting the gig, Andrea Lynn said she only had five days for her to meet with and practice with Curtis ‘Fandango’ Hussey before their big TV debut together. Andrea admitted she was not a wrestling fan, but knew of wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. What was only supposed to be a one time opportunity turned into a much longer two month stay with the company. WWE loved the on screen chemistry the two had with each other and offered her a contract.

At the time, Andrea was attending school at the University of Buffalo…and had to rearrange her classes to travel with WWE once a week. While Andrea was never given any kind of ring name officially…internally she was known simply as ‘Lady Fandango.’

According to both Arn Anderson and Fandango himself…things fell apart once her boyfriend attended a taping backstage. Arn said he took a look at how several of the wrestlers were ogling her and forced her to quit the job. Anderson said he didn’t blame the boyfriend for feeling the way he did and probably saved her from the life of a pro wrestler.

Fandango said that Andrea and her boyfriend eventually split up and she called WWE to try and get her job back with the company. Fandango said they told her that she was already replaced by Summer Rae, who was called up from developmental to be his new dance partner. So the question remains…whatever happened to Lady Fandango?

Since leaving WWE, Andrea Lynn has graduated college, remains a professional dancer and also works as a sign language interpreter.
