This is the 429th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Broken Bond

Jackie Fargo was a legend of Memphis wrasslin’. Fargo was such a big star, that by the time he reached his 30’s, he was looking to slow down from the business. Fargo opened up a sign shop and a very popular nightclub called ‘The Southern Frontier.’ These were the places where Fargo met a young artist named Jerry Lawler and used his artwork for advertisements and murals for his businesses.

Jackie’s business partner in these ventures was a country western singer by the name of Eddie Bond. Bond had some success in the music industry, but is infamously known for rejecting Elvis Presley who auditioned for Bond’s band. Eddie Bond went as far to suggest that Elvis get out of the music industry and become a truck driver. A year later, Elvis would start to make it on his own and actually opened alongside Bond for Johnny Cash’s concert tour. Elvis would say that Eddie Bond was the only person to “break his heart” in the music business.

Eddie Bond was still a celebrity and went into business with his longtime friend Jackie Fargo. The Southern Frontier was an extremely popular club in the 1960’s. In 1969, however, Fargo and Bond had a falling out. The two had an argument that turned violent when Fargo allegedly slapped and spat on Bond. Fargo was arrested and charged with assault and battery. The two men would reportedly make up a little later, but their friendship and partnership was never quite the same.
Rossi Through

Bodybuilder and fitness trainer Kayla Rossi joined AEW back in 2021. It was there where she served as a bodyguard to Joey Janela. She was also trained and became a wrestler for the company. Rossi has since moved on from pro wrestling…at least for now, to focus on other endeavors.

It was revealed that Rossi has posed nude in the past and some have claimed was briefly involved in adult movies under the name of ‘Katrina’. We cannot post any links or pics here, but if you are curious, one of the films was called Girls Do Porn – Episode 57 – Katrina. You be the judge if it is indeed her.
A Cab in the Dark

In his very early days in wrestling, Steve Keirn was sent by his trainers to wrestle in various locations around the world to gain experience. One of those places was in Guatemala in Central America. Keirn was sent over by himself, not knowing the language or customs, he just knew the name of the arena he was scheduled to wrestle at. After trying and failing several times to communicate with the locals, a cab driver who spoke a little English saw Keirn and understood where he was looking to get to.
As Keirn got into the man’s cab, Keirn looked around saw how bad and potentially dangerous the area really was. Knowing it was becoming late and would have to change into his wrestling gear in the cab. As was a tradition in Guatemalan wrestling, Keirn was expected to wear a luchador style mask. When Keirn put the lucha mask on his head, the cab driver immediately thought he was being robbed.

The cab driver stopped his car and started screaming for help as he began trying to hit Keirn with an umbrella. Several locals heard the commotion and suddenly attacked the cab trying to get to Keirn inside. Keirn was dragged out of the vehicle and about to get pummeled by the mob, when a man approached with a gun. He scared off the mob and Keirn realized the man was a member of the Guatemalan army. The soldiers were able to communicate with Keirn and safely got him to the wrestling event safe and sound.
Don’t Be Slick

In 1986, Ken ‘Slick’ Johnson was the top heel manager in the Central States territory. He had guided the team of Art Crews and Timothy Flowers to the NWA Central States tag team titles. Their act in the Kansas City territory was red hot at one point, so the idea between the team and their manager was to start sending video tapes of their work to the WWF.
Slick convinced his team that he would act as their real life manager and send the tapes to Stamford, Connecticut and negotiate a deal for the three of them. According to Crews, that was the last they saw or heard from Slick. One night, they showed up to the building to work a show and were told that their manager left the territory to join the WWF. Apparently, Slick only sent audition tapes of himself to the WWF and left out Crews and Flowers.
