This is the 311th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

MASKerade

Peter Polaco aka Justin Credible in ECW, recalled a story when he was still employed with the WWF as ‘The Portugese Man O’ War’ Aldo Montoya. According to Polaco, he was traveling with both Chris Candido and Chris’ girlfriend Tammy Sytch while the company was performing in the New York/New Jersey area. After a show, Candido invited Polaco to stay with him and Tammy at his parents home instead of booking a hotel room.

After eating dinner with the family, Chris went to take a shower in the upstairs bathroom. While Candido was in the shower, Polaco was laying down on the floor in Chris’ room. Sytch then walked into the bedroom wearing a robe. She then allegedly put on Polaco’s wrestling mask and took off her robe to reveal that she was completely nude. Polaco claimed that Sytch tried to convince him to have sex with her while Candido was in the shower.

Polaco insisted that he just closed his eyes and pretended to be sleeping and did not accept Sytch’s offer. Polaco couldn’t believe that Sytch would do such a thing to her long time boyfriend and said from that day on…completely lost respect for her.

Coffee Break

Franklin Fausch served in World War I as a member of The United States Army Medical Corps. After the war, the 6’2 252 pound Fausch became a professional wrestler named ‘Francois Fouche.’ He claimed to be from France, but in actuality…he was born and raised in Indiana. Francois Fouche wrestled all over the world…but never became a huge star. While wrestling in Australia, Fausch fell in love with a town called Hobart which is located on the island of Tasmania and made his residence there.

Fausch would retire from pro wrestling and become an entrepreneur opening up a gym, night club and a coffee house. It was at the coffee house in 1942 where Fausch found himself in serious legal trouble. Fausch was involved in a physical altercation with a patron named Leslie Appleton. In the confrontation, Appleton suffered a fractured skull and died later that night. According to an eye witness, Fausch used a wooden club to strike Appleton over the head.

Two days later, Fausch was arrested and charged with manslaughter. During his arrest, a crowd of people gathered to witness the former wrestler being escorted out of his home in handcuffs. Somebody in the crowd fired a shot at Fausch but missed. His trial became a media sensation in Tasmania. He would eventually be acquitted of the manslaughter charges as the judge declared that the victim Leslie Appleton was the aggressor in the fight and Fausch used self defense. Despite being exonerated, Fausch never truly recovered from the accusations made against him.

PapaRATzi

In 1986, Shane Douglas had just joined Bill Watts’ Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) and was booked as the traveling companion of a veteran wrestler/referee named Carl Fergie. Fergie was also a cousin to Jerry Lawler. According to Douglas, he witnessed his first “ring rat” experience his very first night in the territory. Douglas and Fergie were in a hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when there was a knock on their door.

It was Carl Fergie who answered the door and there were four females standing outside in the hallway. Two of the women were adults, while the other two were apparently their daughters sixteen years of age. One of the women walked right into the room acting like she knew Carl Fergie personally. Shane Douglas claimed that the woman went to hug Fergie and he gently pushed her back. Carl Fergie then said to the woman to give him oral sex and to Shane’s surprise she did so right in front of everybody.

A Matha of Life Or Death

Dan Matha is a former pro football player turned wrestler who was signed to a WWE developmental contract from 2015 to 2020. He was wrestling for WWE’s NXT brand under the ring name of Dorian Mak before being released due to budget cuts due to the corona virus pandemic. Matha had run into some legal trouble in 2020, first after being involved in a car accident in April. He was ordered to pay over $12,000 in damages.

He was also issued traffic citations in February of 2020 and another in April for driving with a suspended license. He had to pay over 700 dollars in fines for the citations and was scheduled to appear in court in July. When Matha no showed his court date, an arrest warrant was issued and Matha was arrested in August.
