The latest subject of ‘Whatever Happened to’ might get you scratching your heads a bit. She didn’t last all that very long in WWE as a backstage interviewer. Less than three months to be exact. Her story is a bit of an interesting one. Today on the blog, we ask…’Whatever Happened to’ Anastacia Rose?
Over the years, WWE has hired a litany of personalities to work backstage and in the ring as an interviewer. Ever since the legendary ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund left the company for WCW back in 1993, WWE has gone through an assortment interviewers both male and female to fill the void. Some have worked better than others. In the case of Anastacia Rose McPherson, she didn’t exactly pan out like a Renee Young, Kayla Braxton or Charly Caruso.

McPherson really had no broadcasting background to speak of. She was a model and aspiring singer who competed on the reality show “Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for The Next Doll.” After not getting selected to the the newest Pussycat Doll, McPherson auditioned and was hired by WWE in October of 2007. Her ring name was simply Anastacia Rose and was assigned to the Smackdown brand.

Anastacia Rose’s very first interview was with Rey Mysterio. She would also interview the World Heavyweight champion Batista. Her interviewing skills were apparently not up to par and many behind the scenes including John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon felt that she was disastrous. So much so, that after just a few weeks, Anastacia was pulled from television and replaced with a third runner up from the Diva Search contest…Lena Yada. Lena had zero experience as well and was just thrown on to replace Anastacia Rose.
In the beginning of January 2008, just a little less than 3 months with WWE, Anastacia Rose McPherson was released from the company. Anastacia Rose would go on her MySpace account and post that she was on to “Bigger and Better things at this time…”

So the question remains…whatever happened to Anastacia Rose McPherson? She is now an actor who has appeared in a number of TV shows and movies including CSI: NY, Prime Suspect, Happy Endings and Con Man. She has also lent her voice to some video games and has released a number of songs independently. She has a child and now resides in Los Angeles, California.
