He was a second generation wrestler that was trained by his legendary hall of fame father. He competed for a few high profile wrestling organizations including the Global Wrestling Federation, The World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. Today on the blog…we ask…’Whatever Happened to’ Scott Putski?

James Scott Bednarski is the son of WWE Hall of Famer…’The Polish Power’ Ivan Putski. After a successful college career playing football for Texas Christian University (TCU)…Bednarski transitioned to professional wrestling and followed in his father’s footsteps. He was trained by his father and took the name ‘Scott Putski’. The father and son teamed together early in Scott’s career known as The Polish Powers on the independents.

Scott Putski received his first real big break nationally when he wrestled for the Texas based promotion called the Global Wrestling Federation which had a television deal with ESPN. Putski was pushed as a top talent and won all of the promotion’s major titles including the heavyweight, Texas and tag team titles.

After his successful run in the GWF, Putski got his biggest break when he was signed to the promotion that his father helped build…the WWF. Putski was booked as a part of the WWF’s new light heavyweight division. While the 2nd generation wrestler was pushed heavily initially, Scott suffered a leg injury at the Ground Zero pay per view and was sidelined for months. He eventually was let go by the company.

In 1998, Putski joined WCW and wrestled against talent like Scotty Riggs, Billy Kidman, Chris Jericho and Goldberg. Putski became lost in the talent shuffle and left WCW in 1999. Scott would wrestle sporadically after that for a few years before retiring from full time competition.

So the question remains…whatever happened to Scott Putski. Scott has opened up several businesses which include a home remodeling company, a custom car shop and personal training. He resides in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
