This Week in Wrestling: Week 41 of 2026

Last Sunday was TNA’s signature pay per view titled Bound For Glory. Now I always believed Slammersary was their main show, but I was wrong. In any case, that’s another story for another day. The most talked about segment from that show was the TNA debut of ‘Platinum’ Max Caster. You may remember Caster as a member of the AEW tag team the Acclaimed with Anthony Bowens and sometimes Billy Gunn. They are former AEW tag champions and were pretty over with their whole “Scissor Me” routine.

Well, Caster had since left AEW via free agency and popped up for TNA’s Bound For Glory show as a surprise opponent for Moose. Now, the one thing about Caster are his raps that he does before he wrestles a match. They can at times be somewhat raunchy and controversial. His rap last Sunday was no different. Caster said during his rap…“And it’s the firing squad. I drop bombs. You don’t even have to fly to Riyadh.” Most know that Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is like a second home to WWE. Not only that, but the Saudi airport was recently hit by a terror attack.

The very next day, TNA announced that they fired Max Caster for his insensitive comments. While WWE and TNA still have a partnership of some kind, I really don’t think it was them that pressured TNA management to fire Caster. It was the onslaught of fans online that complained to TNA about his lyrics that eventually broke their back and made the decision to let Caster go. Just like that, Max Caster was out of a job.

To his credit, Caster was apologetic and took responsibility for his words. He apologized to TNA president Carlos Silva and to everyone who vouched for him in the company. He felt like he let them down. He admitted that he took his lyrics too far. He also stated that “I can’t apologize for anyone being offended.” So just like that Caster is gone from TNA and who knows where he’ll end up next?

Here’s the thing in my personal opinion, TNA has the brunt to be blamed for this incident. Yes, Max Caster ended up the fall guy, but TNA knew what they were getting when they hired him. He was well known in wrestling circles for his controversial raps. TNA knew that going in or at least should have. Secondly, management should have told Caster to rehearse what he was going to say before he left backstage, so they could edit him in some way. That obviously never occurred. Firing him seems a bit extreme, when the company should be apologizing and perhaps suspending him instead. Just my two cents in the matter.

  • Was anyone here offended by what Max said? If so, can you please explain to me exactly what offended you, why, and how you were hurt by it?

Isn’t it more offensive that WWE is still planning on going there and rising lives in the name of the almighty dollar? Why do people care so much more about words than actions?

Actually, isn’t it more offensive that WWE started going there in the first place?

Welcome to America in 2026 where someone is “offended” by everything. And unfortunately those offended, are very vocal. And by a vocal majority wrestling fans are left leaning who are “offended” often. Read any wrestling sites comment section and you’ll see I’m correct. This week they want Montez Ford fired for his dance on a security guard. They agreed with Max being fired. They want WWE to skip Saudi Arabia because they are told to not like the country. Granted they complain in their Nike’s while eating McDonald’s and drinking Starbucks. All of which make far more money from doing business there than WWE. But never let facts get in the way of the bitter, jealous mob.

      • I wish I could say I’m glad to not be in America, but the rest of the world seems hellbent on catching up to you guys. Thing is they’re laser-focused on only the stupidest things like getting offended. But no one cares that a select few may be offended by stupidity, that’s a no-no…
