When reminiscing about the World Wrestling Federation during the 1990’s, it is hard not to think about a certain group of wrestlers that banded together through friendship. These friends, were both faces and heels that used their power to their advantage behind the scenes. Of course, I am talking about ‘The Kliq’ which consisted of guys like Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Paul Levesque and Sean Waltman along with a couple of others. As strong and as powerful as they were backstage, there was another group that was less talked about…yet had just as much clout. That group of friends were known as B.S.K or otherwise known as the Bone Street Krew.

The Bone Street Krew started out innocently enough…with a couple of wrestlers who enjoyed playing dominoes in the locker room before and after matches. The domino tiles are also known as bones…hence where the “Bone” in Bone Street Krew came from. The group of friends apparently didn’t really form into a solid unit until the Kliq became a legitimate backstage force. BSK was founded by Yokozuna who was also the leader of the group. He was the one who came up with the name and was the most vocal.

As a fan watching Yokozuna…it was hard to imagine Yoko being extremely vocal when the most he would say on TV was “Banzai” yet backstage…he had a completely different persona. Friends said that Yokozuna spoke like a gangsta in real life. His second in command and co leader was The Undertaker. Both demanded respect and got it. The other members of the Krew were the Godwinns, Savio Vega, Papa Shango/Kama/The Godfather, Rikishi, Brian ‘Crush’ Adams, Paul Bearer and “Uncle” Mr. Fuji.

Almost all the members of BSK have tattoos representing their group. It started out with Savio Vega getting a tattoo and then everyone else followed suit. The only exception was Rikishi who never got one. The most notable BSK tattoo is on the stomach of the Undertaker. It simply reads…B.S.K. Pride.

While the Kliq were known for for their backstage politics and overall bad attitudes…the Bone Street Krew were quite the opposite. BSK restored a balance to the locker room. The Kliq wanted to work with only other members of the Kliq to get each other over and the BSK were willing to work with others outside their group. In the beginning, as expected, there were a few small issues between both groups. On occasion, Charles Wright was in an elevator with Kevin Nash and Nash started to verbally talk down to Wright. Wright responded by telling Nash, “Don’t let your height get you in trouble.”

There was another instance where Savio Vega had a little skirmish with Kevin Nash at a bar…but it was quickly broken up and that was the end of it. For the most part, the Kliq and Bone Street Krew got along with each other and were able to co exist. Some members of each group were even good friends like Savio and Scott Hall. Hall helped bring Savio in the WWF.

When members of the Kliq used a power play to get more money out of the WWF and eventually Hall and Nash left the company….the BSK all had a meeting and discussed the issue. The Krew decided to stay loyal to Vince McMahon and the WWF and not try to gain leverage with him by shopping themselves to WCW. Eventually, however, like all factions and groups…the Bone Street Krew eventually disbanded with wrestlers leaving, getting released, passing away or retiring.

For the most part, the remaining members who are still alive, say that they still keep in touch with one another and their friendship remains in tact.
