Wrestling with Sin: 598

September 7, 2026

Brian Damage

This is the 598th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Pipe-r Bomb

There is no question that ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper was one of the all time greatest heels in pro wrestling history. Back in the days of kayfabe, Piper ruffled a lot of fans feathers by the things he did and said in and out of the ring. His daughter Teal remembered receiving numerous death threats from a particular individual. The threats were serious enough that the individual came by the home several times in the middle of the night.

To make matters much worse, Teal said that Roddy drove home one night, got out of his car and then the car exploded into the flames. Luckily, Piper was unharmed, but somebody planted a car bomb into his vehicle. The bomb never set off until it was parked, and he was already out of the car. They never found out who the perpetrator was in the incident.

Throw the Book at Him

In June of 2026, the autobiography of Greg ‘the Hammer’ Valentine entitled ‘Forever Valentine’ was released to the public. The book was written by former wrestler/manager Kenny Casanova who also authored books by Brutus Beefcake and Tito Santana. Not long after the books release, Greg Valentine sent out an official statement that the book did not get his consent or involvement and is unauthorized.

Casanova says he was shocked to hear Valentine do a complete 180 on the book and said he has text messages proving Valentine not only knew about the project but helped collaborate on it with several interviews. Casanova claims the real reason Valentine backed out from supporting the book is his wife, Julie. According to Casanova, Julie Valentine was supposedly kept in the dark about him having a book deal.

When his wife found out about the book and who helped write it, she supposedly threw a fit and forced Valentine to renounce any involvement with it. Casanova said that Julie Valentine does not like him personally for a variety of reasons and that is the main issue.

Greg Valentine took to his social media outlets and issued this statement…

I’m going to say this one last time.

The recently released book
by Scott Wilder and Kenny Casanova
was published without my permission or knowledge.
I wasn’t even provided a copy before it was released,
so any claim that I approved or endorsed it is simply false.

The fact that they’re now trying to involve my wife
in this matter says a lot about who they are.

I’d appreciate your support
by not purchasing this unauthorized release
and by helping spread the word.

My official book is in the works,
and I’ll share more when the time is right.

Thank you, as always, for your loyalty
and support over the years.
It truly means everything to me.

Hide and Seek

During a Lucha show in December of 1995 in Compton, California…there was a three-way match between Rey Mysterio Jr, Damian 666 and Psicosis. During the match, Mysterio seriously injured his ankle to the point he couldn’t press down on the gas pedal of his vehicle because it caused excruciating pain. That wasn’t the major story for that particular contest. As the match was going on, a fan from the balcony threw a full water bottle down and it hit Psicosis.

Psicosis became enraged and charged up to the balcony and punched the fan he suspected of throwing the bottle. Police were called and when they arrived were looking for this masked luchador. Psicosis removed his mask and wrestling gear and pretended to be a fan himself by blending in the crowd. In doing so, he escaped the police and possible arrest.

Put a Little Zenk in Your Diet

The late Tom Zenk recalled his brief time in the WWF and was asked about his best memories from working there. Without hesitation he said hooking up with one of the Federettes in San Diego. The Federettes were beautiful model-esque type women who helped the wrestlers take their robes from the ring and other tasks like that. They were also used to model WWF merchandise, etc. Zenk said the three Federettes were well taken care of. They were given free hotel rooms, transportation to each town and didn’t have to pay for anything other than food.

Zenk said the Federette he had a quick fling with was named Lynette. She was an aspiring model/actress who was originally from Ohio. She was apparently engaged, but that didn’t stop her from getting close to Zenk. He believes that all three of the Federettes became glorified “ring rats” to many of the wrestlers. Once Vince McMahon got word that they were fraternizing with the talent, he fired them.

Obviously Vince was pissed they weren’t fraternizing with him.

Yes folks, wrestlers got the fans so upset in the days of Kayfabe that they were willing to do whatever it took to kill the men they hated. But holy sh*t, a car bomb? That takes the cake. Glad Roddy cheated death. I remember the controversy swirling around Valentine and the book. Crazy. Many a masked man avoided the fans and any trouble by leaving shows unmasked. Potentially saved some lives.
