This is the 596th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Son of A Bitch

In May of 2026, Ric Flair posted on social media that someone was benefiting by using the trademarked ‘Flair’ name. Flair went on to say that this individual better cease and desist or he would turn the case over to his attorney. As it turned out, the person he was referring to was his own son David.

David and his wife started a company called Green Flair Recycling which was started in 2014 in Shelby, North Carolina. Once it was figured out who Ric was speaking about and facing backlash from fans…Ric Flair backtracked just a little bit. He said, “I’m obviously not suing my son. Just reminding him that you can’t have the best of both worlds! Use your God Given name Fliehr, which isn’t worth a cup of coffee. Or use your wife’s name which has had 3 generations of success. Also, please do not sell the robes I let you use during your career as you have already sold one.” David has yet to comment on his father’s tirade.

The Whole F’N Shit Show

Marriage is difficult enough between two people in every day life. It is much, much harder when at least one of the partners is a professional wrestler. Constantly being on the road and all the temptations of groupies aka ring rats or fellow wrestlers you see everyday can easily disintegrate a solid marriage. In the case of Rob Van Dam, he always believed that marriage was sacred and anything other than staying with his wife would be considered a failure.

Rob and Sonya married in 1998 and remained together through Sonya’s battle with cancer. They eventually separated in 2015 and in July of 2016, Sonya filed for divorce from RVD citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple were officially divorced in 2018. Years later, RVD revealed the reasons why his marriage to Sonya fell apart. Van Dam said that his ex wife carried on a long affair with a maintenance worker who was working on their house. Sonya eventually left RVD for this other man and married him. Van Dam said the couple were living off his money that he lost in the divorce settlement.

Despite the marriage not working out, Van Dam said he was grateful she cheated and left him. He said they were two completely different people and she was always miserable. He met and fell in love with fellow wrestler Katie Forbes and now has twins with her. He is finally happy and content and wishes that his ex finds the same happiness in her life.

Hot Dog

Mario Mancini recalled how his father took care of the British Bulldogs mascot Matilda whenever Davey Boy and the Dynamite Kid were off the road. Mario said the dog absolutely loved him and his dad. The Bulldogs apparently ribbed the dog a lot by giving her beer to drink and allegedly feeding the dog drugs. Matilda was pretty much abused by Davey Boy and Dynamite and loved being with Mancini’s family.

One day Mancini was back in the dressing room and was convinced to walk out for his match with Matilda by his side. At the time, Mario thought it was a good idea. Mario made sure to let the ring announcer say that he would be accompanied by the British Bulldog’s mascot Matilda, not to make anyone think that it was his dog. That night, Mancini walked to the ring for his match with Matilda.

A couple of days later, Davey Boy saw Mancini in the locker room and called him over. As Mario approached Davey Boy, The Dynamite Kid stepped in between the two wrestlers and confronted Mancini about using their mascot on an independent show. Mario admitted that he did and Dynamite Kid open hand slapped Mario twice, before Mancini walked away.

Face Off

Geneva Stewart was trained by Buddy Lee and wrestled for 10 years from 1947 until 1957. A near fatal accident occurred just a year into her career, when she accidentally walked into a whirling propeller at an air field. The incident severely disfigured her face, but luckily she survived. That disfigurement would eventually lead her to a very successful career in wrestling. She shaved her head bald (the first woman wrestler to do so) and renamed herself ‘The Lady Angel.’ A homage to ‘The French Angel’ Maurice Tillet.

The Lady Angel became one of the biggest female attractions in professional wrestling during that era. After her wrestling career ended, Geneva led a very quiet life. Sadly, on Nov 8, 1965, Geneva took her own life. She was just 36 years old at the time of her death.
