Top Five Hardcore Wrestlers

While the hardcore wrestling style has definitely had it’s ups and downs, the performers who made it cool and mainstream deserve their kudos. Here is my Top Five Hardcore Wrestlers:

Sabu- The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac could do it all. If he would have kissed more ass, he would have been HUGE. Did it his own way and still managed to become a 2x ECW World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Television Champion, and NWA World Heavyweight Champion. 

Abdullah The Butcher- The Madman from The Sudan had violent, bloody brawls for over 50 years. He had feuds with the likes of Bruiser Brody, The Sheik, Ric Flair, Carlos Colon, and Cactus Jack.

Mick Foley- Whether in between the ropes as Cactus Jack Manson, Mankind, or as himself…he isn’t just known for his hardcore stuff but also known as one of the most iconic superstars the business has ever seen.

The Original Sheik- The master of the fireball and a career that spanned from 1947-1995. The Sheik main-evented Madison Square Garden against WWWF World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino , was a 12-time NWA United States Heavyweight Champion, and is in the WWE Hall of Fame.

New Jack- The Original Gangsta was one of the most violent, craziest performers the business will ever see. Maybe THE MOST VIOLENT! From slicing open Mass Transit with a scalpel to throwing the 400+ pound Vic Grimes off of a 20 foot scaffold after shocking him with a stun-gun, New Jack’s legacy will live forever.
