This is the 593rd installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Debra’s Diva Dustup
Debra Marshall revealed in an interview that she once physically confronted another woman while working for the WWF. The other woman was Torrie Wilson and the reason she confronted her was because she believed Wilson was “disrespecting her.” Delving deeper into the situation, Debra said that she believed Torrie was a bit too flirtatious with her then husband ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
Debra claimed she saw Torrie rubbing up against Austin and she flipped out. She cornered Wilson in the dressing room, grabbed Torrie by her arm and threatened to beat her up right there and then. Debra said Torrie went into tears and apologized to her.
Torrie did admit that there was a situation involving Debra and believes it was all caused by the Undertaker’s ex wife Sara who had issues with Torrie herself. Wilson said that Sara filled Debra’s head with lies that she was trying to pick up Austin. Sara also believed that Torrie was after her husband. Wilson said there was absolutely no truth to the rumors and that when Debra confronted her, she was speechless and did not say a word fearing that she could be fired from the company.
Watts the Deal With ECW?
In early 2000, Erik Watts made a brief appearance in ECW and lost in 9 seconds to Spike Dudley. Despite his appearance being very short, his character generated a lot of heat from the ECW fans that got the attention of Paul Heyman and was invited back. Watts returned to ECW a week later and was defeated by Raven. The character was generating a great deal of heat and so Paul Heyman kept on asking Watts to return. His father Cowboy Bill Watts warned him that Heyman had an awful reputation of not paying his wrestlers.
When Heyman invited Watts back again, Watts agreed only to get stiffed on a payment. So when Heyman reached out to Watts to continue appearing for the company, Watts made certain demands. He asked for his pay upfront and required Heyman to pay for his travel expenses to and from the arena. Heyman agreed and after receiving payment, Watts no showed and refused to answer his phone ending his brief run in ECW.
I Could And I Wood
In May of 1972, wrestler Frank Martinez was arrested during a show and charged with assault and battery. According to reports, a couple of fans were heckling him during his match in a small town in Tennessee. Martinez claimed that some racial slurs were thrown his way and in response, Martinez allegedly grabbed a 2 x 4 and struck the fan with it before heading into the back dressing room.
The police were summoned to the scene and arrested both Martinez and the fan that was allegedly assaulted. The fan was charged with disorderly conduct. No word on the outcome of this case. Martinez continued wrestling up until his retirement in 1975.
What the Faulk?
LT Faulk is a second generation wrestler whose father was known as ‘Cowboy’ Tony Faulk. LT was arrested and charged with stautory rape in 2008. The alleged victim at the time was a female aged 17 years old while Faulk was 20 years old. While the case was known locally in the Tennessee area, some wrestlers came forward saying they were afraid to speak out against LT, because his father Tony had influence booking in the area.
The case was settled in 2011 and LT Faulk supposedly pled guilty to a lower offense and received no jail time and not required to register as a sex offender. Since then, another victim came forward alleging that Faulk groomed her when she was just 14 years old and he was 23. She said…”Honestly wish I had reported him when I had the chance and got him locked up for good. He groomed me from around 2012-2013 (he was 23-24 I was 14-15 )told me he was my bf and we’d be together when I turned 18 said his wife (who he abused) was just on paper. He’s a predator who stole my childhood (and virginity) what’s almost as bad is the other wrestlers who knew, saw and said nothing. They’re absolutely a part of the problem!”

There is s strong problem with sexual harassers on the indy circuit these days. Something needs to be done. Hopefully the guilty will get their just due.
