This Week in Wrestling: Week 8 of 2026

There has been a lot of rumors and talk floating around about a possible return to WWE for one Vincent Kennedy McMahon. One of those rumors have Vince partnering with some Saudi investors to reacquire WWE from TKO. This after TKO announced that WWE generated 1.7 billion in revenue. While seeing Vince returning to WWE seems unthinkable, a couple of people claim it isn’t so farfetched.

Jonathan Coachman claims he heard from “sources” that the subject was at least brought up to TKO upper management and they are willing to at least listen to offers. Eric Bischoff said that WWE has been subtly cracking the door open for a Vince McMahon return. Whether that is to be an on screen character or potentially back in charge, Bischoff isn’t sure. It does seem believable that Vince would want back in WWE.

As the one time CEO of the company, McMahon was said to be relentless and worked at all hours of the day and night. Granted, he is now 80 years old, but I am almost sure Vince didn’t like how he was basically pushed out of the company he helped build into the global juggernaut it is today. So as crazy as the notion is that McMahon would want to purchase the company he sold off, the might be a slim chance that these rumors have some merit.

What would that mean to WWE and the wrestling landscape if he were to return? Honestly, as influential as McMahon was in reshaping the wrestling business…the last few years he was in charge didn’t produce many great moments. Perhaps a lengthy lay off would reenergize him? What would that mean for the roster as it is currently constituted as? There are some who were pro Vince and many who were against him.
Regardless, as it stands now, Vince is on the outside looking in. Personally, I just don’t see him getting his hands on the company he sold. It has made for some interesting talk though.
