This week saw the debut of TNA wrestling on the AMC channel. There was a lot of talk and rumors that there would be a huge debut on the show, with some speculating that Chris Jericho would show up. It turned out to be Elayna Black formerly known as Cora Jade in NXT. Also Dara Rae fka Sonya Deville debuted on TNA as a new heel authority figure. Not exactly the (pardon the pun) impact that was anticipated from some, but will certainly be solid additions to their roster.

Overall, it was a good show that saw TNA original AJ Styles return to the promotion that helped make him into the star he is today. They even teased AJ possibly wrestling another match for the company. Regardless, it was a solid show…nothing spectacular which I felt it should have been, but solid nonetheless. It was nice to see Mike Santana get another opportunity as TNA world champion and it looks as if the IInspiration are leaving TNA…back to WWE perhaps?

I will be very interested to see the rating for TNA’s debut on AMC. For the last several years, TNA has been wasting away on the very seldom viewed AXS Channel. The ratings were so low, that they didn’t even properly register. Now that they have a bigger stage and with WWE’s help promoting them, I do wonder if it will make a big difference. I hope it will. Another viable wrestling promotion can’t hurt the business…only make it better.
